    1. [ILWHITE] klez virus
    2. jeff gossett
    3. To All; Someone on a message board I subscribe to has a computer infected with the KLEZ virus. I have received 5 email messages carrying this virus. Everyone should have an Anti-Virus program that scans emails. I use Norton Anti Virus 2002. This application scans my incoming & outgoing emails. Please update your systems. The following will describe the KLEZ virus and how to contain it.: W32.Klez.H@mm is a modified variant of the worm W32.Klez.E@mm <http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.klez.e@mm.h tml>. This variant is capable of spreading by email and network shares. It is also capable of infecting files. Removal tool Symantec has provided a tool to remove infections of all known variants of W32.Klez and W32.ElKern. Click here <http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.klez.remova l.tool.html> to obtain the tool. This is the easiest way to remove these threats and should be tried first. Note on W32.Klez.gen@mm detections: W32.Klez.gen@mm <http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.klez.gen@mm .html> is a generic detection that detects variants of W32.Klez. Computers that are infected with W32.Klez.gen@mm have most likely been exposed to either W32.Klez.E@mm or W32.Klez.H@mm. If your computer is detected as infected with W32.Klez.gen@mm, download and run the tool. In most cases, the tool will be able to remove the infection.

    3. OOOPS!!! Thanks for the correction. I didn't look to see, but I thought I saw on the page where it said St. Clair Co. I knew St. Clair Co was near St. Louis, but didn't look for Fremont. Maybe it is time to get my glasses changed! 2. Evalyn Turner
    3. This information was sent to another mailing list that I am on. Thought I would pass it on. The Fremont Library is in St. Clair Co. IL and the other is Burlington Iowa Both sites have lots of information on things besides the Census. 1870 is indexed and searchable. www.fremontlibrary.org or www.burlington.lib.ia.us/ While looking around in the Burlington Library site under their Search Places category, I put in White County Illinois and the first item it listed was a book from the DAR. Among other families, it contained information regarding a "YOUNG STOKES" family and several of his descendants. Also had histories and information on other Illinois counties. Hope this is helpful. Evalyn

    3. Cindy, Interesting. I'll make a point to look for the probate record for Charles. I was hoping for a similar listing for John W. Andres. I got the death certificate for Lorinda Andres in the mail today. It does't tell me anything more than I already knew. I'm interested in her children as a source of more clues now. Thanks for checking for me. 3. Clara, I had to be at the genealogy library today and found slim pickings on the Andres family. No family file, but there are six listings at least in Oak Grove cemetery. The only probate listing was for a Charles Andres who died in 1942. I didn't have time to check the cemetery or census books. Cindy Clara Kress wrote: > > Cindy, > > Thanks again. While you are in White County you need to stop at the genealogy library at 203 N. Church in downtown Carmi, and look over the maps, cemetery books, and family files that are on hand. Their phone number is 618-382-8425, and the hours are 11:30 am to 4:30 pm tues-fri.
