I'm not sure when these books will be published since this was Charlene Shields and Pat Davis's project and they have since been forced to resign. Charlene was one of the greatest White County historians and will be sadly missed. Pat Davis devoted a lot of hours to indexing all of the White County reference books, saving us researchers hours of time thumbing through every page. I think these are the people you were interested in. Mary is the oldest daughter of the line that i'm working on. I spoke to an older lady there in Concord, IL a long time ago & she was a Campbell, I wanted to know about a Church that was formed from the Little Walbash Assoc. which, Woolsey & Chastain were members of. She told me about a church that she remembered as a kid that was across the road from where she lived when I went to see her & it was a log church & she tought it had burned down, I had a sister-in-law that lived in Carmi & she told me that Mrs. Campbell had died in the nursing home, so I never got to talk to her agin. I have a lot of info on Woolsey, if I can help you, you can e-mail me at dfadkins@netzero.net Joyce

Hi all, A few things of note. On the White County web site, I have started to index the columns of Charlene Shields on the page at www.rootsweb.com/~ilwhite2/wchs.html . I am just giving the title of the column plus any family names prominently discussed. I also have a link to test pages for the Mary Smith Fay library catalog. They are at www.rootsweb.com/~ilwcohs/msf1.htm and msf2.htm. They are almost too big to edit. Also, the LDS site at www.familysearch.org now has the 1880 US census transcription online. The library has the census on CD, and so far I like searching the CDs better than the net version. If you are going to be in the Carmi area November 4th please attend the fall meeting of the White County Historical Society, which features the annual Heritage House award. Email me for more information. Cindy Birk Conley Carmi, IL
