A search of the "Illinois statewide marriage index", online, shows the following: McDaniel, Austin md. Black, Susannah E. in White Co. on Apr. 21, 1853. There are lots of grooms named Pelham, but no record of one marrying your Susannah. The only Pelham marrying a woman of that first name, or variation, was in Wash. Co., in 1858. There are no Peeham grooms. Good luck! Genie --- acargo@ameritech.net wrote: > Black, Susannah; m. McDaniel, Austin R. abt. > 1854 in White Co. Illinois. Cletus, where do you now live? I'm getting ready to send you some photos. Jane
Cletus, I'm interested in Lucy Munsey. Was she from the Emma area, or possibly from Posey County, Indiana? Jane

Lucy was the daughter of my G Uncle Alvin Munsey. He was the only sibling my Grandma had. Yes they lived in Emma. I used to visit Uncle Alvin as a teen ager. I was about 16 I'd say. He lived to be pretty old. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Thikaben@aol.com> To: <ILWHITE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, December 21, 2002 9:25 AM Subject: Re: [ILWHITE] White Co Photographs > Cletus, I'm interested in Lucy Munsey. Bob, I don't know about any photographs that I have which may be of your family, but I have a letter written by Benjamin Mobley in 1861, while he was serving in the Civil War. Are you related? I will be happy to send you a copy. Jane
As regards my messages about photographs of probable White County residents from maybe 1880 to 1900, here is a list of the known photos/tintypes. Several of them have successfully been identified, but more information is still needed. My original thoughts were that they might be friends of my family, but it seems that they are somehow related. If anyone would like to see copies of any of them, I do now have a scanner and will be happy to send them to you. Here is a copy of the message I sent to the Rootsweb White County Message Board in September 2000. Jane GASTON, Rose RENO, George E. DOUTHIT, T. S. BROOKS, Henry CURTIS, Sam HUFF, Andrew Jackson, William, Phillip, Sopha (Sophia ?) BARKER, Taylor SHIPLEY, Martha HICKS, M. G. (possibly W. G.) STITT, F. A., Hiram A., Anna M. BLAKLEY, Anna MEARSE, Martha MUNSEY, Lucinda GOODMAN, J. W. INGLE, William VANWINKLE, Betty ROSE, Calif BRENT, J. B. BRUMBLEY, Walter W. All of the above are believed by me to be from White County. I would appreciate any assistance in locating descendants of any of the above. Thank you.
Jane, You have four names on your list that are kin to me. Hicks, Brooks, Lucy Munsey is my Grandmother's niece and William Ingle was her first husband. Cletus

Kathleen: Did you mean to send the message below to me privately? Since you sent it to the group as a whole, I will answer that way. What I asked was what "actual Genealogist" means. Those words were used in an email. I did not understand what they mean........so I inquired. As for your question about my financial situation as it relates to my ability to hire genealogists......I do my own research because I do genealogical research for a living. I began training over forty years ago. In addition, I am a librarian (MLS) and a paralegal. My family settled SE IL in 1818, and I was born and raised in IL. I have been on the list off and on since it began. Good luck to you too, Kathleen. Kathleen, I agree. Have never been disappointed in help from the Historical society and rarely ask for a certified genealogist. But who knows maybe the new one can offer some help to some who choose to go that route. So I am willing to see what happens. Marian
Hi - It's $20 annually, or $15 if you submit a descendant chart or ancestor chart(s) with it. What a bargain!
