Bea, David and SSpunk, thank you very much for your information and help in sorting out things on the above families. I really appreciate it! Even though my Eubanks, Greer and Quigley ties are a bit flimsy and very distant, I do have an interest in them since they were all neighbours of the Duggers, Bruces and Edwardses. Again, many thanks, and Bea, good luck with your book. Carol Dugger
Hi, can somebody please help me out here? I have some data that needs to be clarified somehow and I think there are a lot of Eubanks/ Greer/Quigley folks that may be able to help me figure out some murky stuff! Starting with Asa GREER/Rebecca Neighbors, who are Asa's children? I have one as being Aquilla (just love that name!). Who did Aquilla marry? I also have that Aquilla GREERr Jr (must be son of Aquilla Sr who was the son of Asa and Rebecca above???) married Elizabeth Welch. This Aquilla Jr. had at least 2 daughters, Mary "Polly" Elizabeth GREER and Martha Ann GREER. Where the confusion comes in is here: I have that Martha Ann EUBANKS married Reuben W. QUIGLEY ? According to the IL Statewide Marriages, it was Martha Ann GREER that married Reuben W. QUIGLEY March 27, 1856. Is this Martha Ann GREER the daughter of James EUBANKS JR (b. 1808-1810) and Mary "Polly" Elizabeth GREER (b. 1817-1820)? Thanks for any assistance, I'm really quite confused. Carol Dugger
I have a Joseph Carter in my database. He is the father of Mary "Ethel" Carter Large. The Larges are my line. I have Ethel's mom (Joseph's wife) as Rosetta Baker. I don't have any info on Joseph and/or Rosetta. Ethel was born in 1894IL. I do not have any siblings for her. Her children were named Denzil, Donovan, Wanda, and Eugene. Let me know if either of you think this is the right guy. I have an address that someone gave me for Wanda-born 1918-I don't know if she is still living or not. Her son supposedly still lives in Fairfield. I do not have a Thomas or Will on any of my family sheets. It would be interesting to find out if we have a common thread. My CHRISMAN's are from that part of Indiana also. My White Co Chrisman is Simon Chrisman; born 1835 in Columbus, IN, died 23 Oct 1878 Enfield, White, IL, married Abigail Ann GREEN in Indiana. His father was Jesse W. Chrisman from born 1808 in Ohio. And his Mother was a Elizabeth (unknown surname)born in PA in 1818. Jesse and Elizabeth are as far as I go back on this line. I have not been able to find any additional information. If you have any additional information and would be willing to share I would be appreciative. If you think I might be able to help you let me know. Hello, Debbie, I'm delighted to hear from you, but you know much more than I do! I have no primary evidence, such as bible inscriptions, alas. Elizabeth Betsy) Shull probably named her daughter Katherine/Catherine Shull Hunsinger after her sister! That's my multiple g-grandmother, who married John Williams. His father, Stephen Williams, was a Primitive Baptist preacher in White County. Would you be willing to share Peter Shull's Revolutionary War pension papers with me? Have you looked at the Branch Roundup on line? Lois Branch may have info on Katherine's children. There's also the Primitive Baptist website--Carthage, IL? The Elder there was kind enough to send me some genealogical info he had on Hunsingers. I can't put my hands on it right now. Susan: From your note, I am guessing we are related through Betsy Shull who married Jacob Hunsinger. I descend from Betsy's sister, Katherine, who married Jacob Matthews. I am trying to prove the names of Katherine Shull Matthews' children. Have you ever found any bible reference or anything else that might prove her children's names? I know my family called your Betsy aunt Betsy. I also know that Katherine and Betsy are named as children of Peter Shull in his Rev. War pension papers. So, there is no problem proving they are sisters. Both attended church at Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Burnt Prairie. Anything you can add about Katherine's children would be most appreciated. As children of William F Spence and Mary Austin you have a John Spence. Could this be John C Spence born about 1860, married Miranda Greer in 1880 White Co. Younger brother Charles was born 1867, time frame for being born about 1860 would be about right. Norm
Thanks. He was s/o John Rister + Mary Downen steve

Cletus, That's why I mentioned that the old listing was from the 1970s, and Powell is still an active cemetery. When you go to on your trip get a copy of his obit at the genealogy library in Carmi or the Norris City Public Library, both of which have scrapbooks for the last 10-15 years. I didn't see any Cochane listings for Powell cemetery. Cindy Cletus Lloyd wrote: > > Thanks Cindy. I'm new at sending these messages. My Munsey is Alonzo Munsey > and he was buried there in 1990. Cindy, do you have any information on the early Hills? Reason I am asking is that one of my brick walls was named Minerva Hill Pritchett b. 1817 probably in TN. I was wondering if this is just a fluke or if I ought to be digging into this possibility? Carol Dugger
