Janean, Your Rices came out of Virginia, I believe. Mine came out of Massachusetts. The only possible connection that I have come across over the years is the possibility -- with an emphasis on possibility -- that the immigrant on your line was a brother (or nephew, or very close relative) of Edmund Rice who immigrated to Mass. in 1638. I think some of yours went to SC, and some went to TN around Davidson and Maury County, but some were in Livingston Co., KY (and another county or two in the vicinity) before they moved from there to White Co., IL. Christine Rice of Carbondale, IL, is more knowledgeable about your Rice family than anybody I know. She lives on Emerald Lane in Carbondale. We corresponded before e-mail, so I don't know whether she has that capability now or not. You could look her up in the internet white pages for her address and telephone number. This doesn't mean that we are not related, Janean -- just not through that line. As I recall, you are descended through the Benbrooks. That line is connected through my Sneeds and Malones. Hi Evalyn Barbara's maiden name was Zoph. I believe she first married a hutchcraft then a Darr. The Zoph's, sometimes spelled Zopf lived in White county. Father was Nicholas and mother was Malinda Elizabeth Short. Tom eturner@ccrtc.com wrote:Tom, My gggrandfather was Harrison HUTCHCRAFT SR. born 1815 KY/IL. This is intriguing... I know someone with a Mac managed to get an earlier version okay. Has anyone else with a Mac been able to get to the site? Maybe I did something to mess things up. It could, but this way, you can see all the names that person is researching, so you won't have to send emails if you have several different names in common. Six of one, half a dozen of another...
