Diana: I have to retract my last e-mail. Although I do not recognize the exact names, I started looking for another Wilson line to research and found these names: Eula Rose Pyle m. Paul Martin and m. Charles Russell Martin Her mother was a Wilson. Leonard Roscoe Pyle m. Florence Land. Same Wilson mother as Eula. The mother, Mary Etta Wilson is connected to my Wilson line from Virginia. I have 7 Land's. Alexander Green Land m. Julia Foster; Anna Brooks Land m. John Gill Taylor; Florence Land m. Leonard Pyle. Then I have 3 living Land's. And William M. Land m Rachel Marlin. The Marlins are my family. I have William H. Martin m. Margaret Jane Marlin; Paul Martin m. Eula Rose Pyle; Maggie Lee Martin m. Alvin Marlin; Iantha Jane Martin m. John Calvin Adams; Charles Russell Martin m. Eula Rose Pyle; Charles Franklin Martin m. Frances Tucker (father of Paul and Charles) I have a Mary E. Morgan m. Phillip Wilson. I have many other Morgans but only one is my direct line. The rest are related to her. The most of them I believe were in Jefferson Co. Mt. Vernon area. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diana C. I don't recognize any of those names. My Wilsons were in Carmi and Enfield. They originally came from Loudoun Co. Virginia then into Kentucky and onward to White Co. Janean, Hello. I am seeing the name Edgar Wilson coming up pretty regulary, I am wondering if Edward was actually Edgar and he didn't like that name and changed it, or if it just looks like Edgar on the page. Jerry, There is a Caroline Leathers, age 2, b. Ill., listed in H.H. 576/566. Others are John Leathers, age 33, b. KY. (appears to be Head of HH); Pasana, age 40, Ill; Mary 17, b. Ill; John 15, Ill; Alice 12, Ill; James age 9, Ill; William 10/12, Ill. There are several other Leathers and Willises in the neighborhood. It appears that some Willis children are living with Leathers families. Diana, The index for 1860 White County Census book is a surname only index. There are 15 pages with Wilson on them. On page 33 of the book, HH 525/515 Nancy Wilson, 40, b. Ill, is the head of the household, with the following other persons: James, 16, b. Ill; Emaline, 14, Ill; Wilburn, 10, Ill; Edgar, 8, Ill; Janette, 5, Ill; Easter, 3, Ill; Pamelia, 1, Ill. On the same page, HH 527/517 Nathaniel P. Wilson age 22, Ill. is head of HH, with Narcissus Wilson, age 20, Ill. included. There is a ditto mark, referring to the same as above, which was another person. The ditto means F.L. which is for farm laborer. I will look at the other pages for an older Nathaniel who would be Nancy's husband. If I find something, I will let you know. Janet Armstrong ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diana C. Good Morning List, Would someone who may have a listing of those buried in the Shipley Cemetery look and see if there is a listing for a Joseph Carter. He was born abt. 1808 and died abt. 1869, in White Co. I addressed a similar question on this person some years ago , but have recently seen where someone shows his burial as being in the Shipley Cem. and am trying to verify this. Thank You, Carolyn Campbell White
