Interesting though, the Joseph Henry Masser, born in Ripley Co., MO and died in White Co., IL - the reverse of my Thomas Miller's birthplace and deathplace. Thomas's wife Lenora was a Massey b. in TN) and I have seen variations on that name - Massey, Massie, Massa, etc., so Masser could certainly have been a variation of that family name. I just added old pictures of the Pervine Atwood family (1860s) and David's brother and wife (1870s to 1890s). These pictures are on the Pictures Of My Adopted Family page. The Shields family had many Southern IL connections but Edgar County is the only one yet listed. Hope you enjoyed the pictures and bio. There will be more. They might have lived some in Hamilton Co, which split off about 1822, or even Gallatin Co, but we didn't have many families migrate to TN, as most came from KY and TN and east to IL and then went to MO. There was one Carmi Miller family but I don't have a lot on them. Wish I could help more. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I too would be interested in information about this family. I am researching Hughes and Clark in White County. I believe William Little's son, James, married my great-aunt Elizabeth Hughes. Hello, White County researchers: The family story is that my great-great grandparents William Little (abt 1810- Mar 1865) and his second wife whose maiden name was Martha Vaughan (b. abt 1832, d. abt 1864) were buried in White County, possibly near "Blue Mound" Church. My great-grandmother Tabetha Ann (called Annie, and who married U. Travis Walden) was a toddler when they died, and she was raised by Judge Orlando Burrell. I'd like to know where William and Martha are buried and to hear from other descendants of this pair or of William and his first wife Rutha (1809-1863). Thanks!
