I believe that he is listed as a cousin in the 1880 census of Frank (Francis) W. and Allace Downey (Downen). Does anyone know what happened to him after this or how he might have come to live with this family. I believe that he is the son of Josephine Downen and Deloss Brown. In the 1870 census he is living in Champaign county, IL with Joe Downen Jr. and Sr. and his mother Josephine. Josephine is the daughter of Josiah Downing (Downen) and Rebecca Mann Steptebe.
