Sharon Diane (Jones) Heath Born: Mon., Jul. 29, 1946 Died: Sat., Nov. 30, 2019 Sharon Diane Heath, 73, of Ridgway, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on July 29, 1946 in Eldorado, the daughter of the late Earl Ivan and Nevella Jane (Boster) Jones. Sharon married the love of her life, Rodney Grant Heath on October 3, 1964. Sadly, Rodney preceded her in death on January 27, 2010. For many years Sharon was in public service with the school board and the popcorn board. As an entrepreneur she ran her own business, Country Side Pool. She also enjoyed and loved camping and riding horses. Sharon is survived by her two sons, Shane and Melissa Heath of Ridgway, Chris and Andrea Heath of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; one brother, Deon and Annette Jones of Ridgway; six grandchildren, Jeff and Megan Heath , Jonathon and Sidney Heath, Parker Heath, Christopher Heath, Jake Heath and Jaci Heath; two great grandchildren, Braxton and James. Visitation for Sharon will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral service will at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 4th at 1 p.m. with Father Steven Beatty will officiate with burial at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven. Judge Henry Lewis May 26, 1926 ~ November 28, 2019 (age 93) Obituary Judge Henry Lewis, of Carmi, Illinois, was born on May 26, 1926 in Carmi and died peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, on Thursday, November 28, 2019. Judge Lewis was the son of Rev. Henry Lewis and Helen Myrtle Pedersen, and the stepson of Julius P. Botsch. He is survived by his wife of 68 years,Pat C. Lewis of Carmi, four children, Jeff (Paula) Lewis of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kathy (Rick) Williams, of Louisville, Kentucky, Dan (Jennifer) Lewis of Merrillville, Indiana, and Sarah Johnston, of Carmi. Papa Henry was the beloved grandfather of nine grandchildren, David (Mitra) Lewis, Kristin Lewis, Daniel (Jen) Williams, Taylor (Blair) Hartman, Ben (Courtney) Williams, Claire (Ben) Bellamy, Duncan Lewis, Margaret (Jason) Maxwell and Henry (Emily)Johnston, and great grandfather of Hank Hartman, Owen Lewis, Ruthie Hartman, Augie Johnston, Eleanor Bellamy, Miles Johnston, Wesley Geary, Jocie Geary, plus, two more in utero arriving soon! He is also survived by his sister, Enid Thuermer, was predeceased by his parents, his stepfather, and his brother Robert Lewis. Judge Lewis served in the Army Air Force during World War 2, and graduated from DePauw University in 1950, and the University of Illinois College of Law in 1952. He began the private practice of law in Carmi with the firm of Kern and Pearce after graduation from law school. He was elected State's Attorney of White County, Illinois and served from 1956 through 1966. He had a long and distinguished judicial career, serving first as Resident Circuit Judge for White County and then as Circuit Judge for the state of Illinois from 1966 through 1987, including serving five terms as Chief Judge of the 2nd Judicial Circuit and also as a member of the Executive Committee of the Illinois Supreme Court from 1980 through 1984. In 1987, Judge Lewis was elevated to the Illinois Appellate Court for the 5th Judicial Circuit, holding various positions over his tenure including Justice of the Industrial Commission Division of the Appellate Court and Chairman of the Appellate Court in 1990. He retired initially from the Appellate Court in 1992, and returned to serve again by special appointment after retirement. Judge Lewis was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Carmi and an active participant in the life of that church for his entire life. He was an active and award winning supporter of the Buffalo Trace Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a past President and active member of the White County Historical Society and an active Rotarian for many years. Judge Lewis was blessed with many dear friends, who collectively spent many joyful hours golfing at the Carmi Country Club and other golf venues, in competitive ping pong battles in his basement and over coffee at the Carmi Motel coffee shop. He will be remembered for his good nature, his quick wit, his unflagging service to church and community and his deep devotion to family and friends. Funeral services for Judge Henry Lewis, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Carmi. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30 at First Presbyterian Church. She was born in St. Charles, MO on November 16, 1939 the daughter of Norman Carl and Frances Drusilla (Reeves) Jaspering. Rosalie was a homemaker and had worked as a pipefitters helper. She was a member of the New Haven American Legion Auxiliary. Rosalie is survived by a daughter, Ramona Raymond, of Carmi; four sons, Robert (Veronica) Raymond, of Oak Ridge, TN, Ron Raymond, Roger Raymond and Marty Banks, all of Poseyville, IN; brother, Gerard "Geri" Jaspering, of St. Charles, MO; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was born in White County, IL on June 27, 1923 the son of William Berry and Lura M. (Conrod) Hall. Pete married Mae Raney on July 29, 1944 and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2008. He retired on January 1, 1984 as a Conservation Officer with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Pete loved family get togethers and spending time with his family. He loved to hunt, fish and traveling. Pete was a former Concord School Board member and member of Concord Methodist Church. She enjoyed music, spending time with her family and traveling. He was born in Evansville, IN on September 25, 1930 the son of Lee and Ethel (Absher) Leggett. Mack married Dana Lois Wilson in 1954. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War being discharged in 1954. Buzz co-owned along with his brother, Boren and Son's Grocery and later was the owner of Leggett's Market. He was a member of the Carmi VFW and American Legion, past president of the Carmi Lions Club and a past member of the Elks. Mack loved golfing, bowling, fishing, gardening and planting flowers. He was a charter member of the Carmi Country Club. Mack is survived by his wife, Dana; two sons, Greg (Connie) Leggett and Doug Leggett, both of Carmi; one granddaughter, Megan (Matthew) Williams; three great-grandchildren, Nell, Gideon and Joy Williams and his favorite dog, Buster. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Leggett and Ethel Boren; step father, Alonzo Boren; sister, Audrey Leggett; brother, Col. Malinee was born in Carmi, on March 8, 1963 to Marvin and Sharon (Fulkerson) Browning. She loved to Crochet, Read, visit with her family and friends. Malinee was a good hearted person with a kind soul and will be missed. She is survived by her mother, Sharon Browning of Norris City, a brother, Brandon Browning of Norris City and a sister Carmen (Cord) Bear of Ormand Beach, FL. He was born June 5, 1926 in Enfield, the son of Ray Daniel and Mamie (Garrett) South. He married Dorothy Jean Cushman on August 31, 1946 and she survives. Garrett served in the United States Army and was in the Korean War. He farmed most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially quail and squirrels. He was a lifelong member of the Carmi V.F.W. and a member of the Farm Bureau. In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Garrett is survived by his brother, Carroll (Dixie) South of Enfield and a sister, and Phyllis Sanders of Norris City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Linda Lou; brother, Doyle South; sisters; Emogene Thomas, Dorothy York and Helen South. Jeff was a 1974 graduate of Carmi Community High School and a 1978 graduate of Murray State University. Jeff worked alongside his dad and brothers at Jim Haley Production. After his work in the oilfield, Jeff went on to attend the Louisville Theological Seminary graduating in 1997 with a Master of Divinity. Over the years he ministered at many different churches including, McHenry, Mills Shoals, Springerton, Flat Rock, Albion, Enfield, Wesley Chapel, Sumner, Lorraine United Methodist in Northern IL and Cherry Street Baptist Church. Jeff was involved in Jail House Ministry for five years and active in RIG Ministries and their numerous events. He touched many lives and had such a strong faith that he continued to minister and witness to those who would visit him to the end. Jeff is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie; daughter Corey (Kelly) Ackerman, of Carmi; son, Todd (Sarah) Haley, of Carmi; brother, Brett (Mary) Haley, of Carmi; six grandchildren, Karen, Karson and Kenley Kays, Drew Ackerman and Niah and Maren Haley along with their new brother due in March. Jeff is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Wanda Haley, Carol (Mike) Huff and Kathy (Mark) Fridley and a brother-in-law, Larry (Carol) Beck. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Drew D. Haley, a grandson, Henry Alan Haley and a nephew Ian Haley. Funeral services for Jeffery Alan Haley, 64, of Carmi will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. He was born in Carmi, IL on August 8, 1955 the son of Jimmy D. and Nancy (Walter) Haley. He married Debra Lou Beck on December 27, 1975. Jeff was a 1974 graduate of Carmi Community High School and a 1978 graduate of Murray State University. Jeff worked alongside his dad and brothers at Jim Haley Production.
