Migration Patterns: Let's start a list to put on the website which will list three pieces- 1 County/State that your ancestors and relatives migrated from right before arriving in Wayne County, IL 2 Time frame of the migration 3 Surname of the family migrating to Wayne County, IL Here is my example and if anyone has a better method then we can revise the process. We can just continue to add to the list. Athens County, OH abt 1853 Families came and settled in the Cisne, IL area. Families such as the Stevens, Nichols, Cummings, Speed, Taylor, and Carson families. Some of these families went on to Wapello County, Iowa. The majority of these families moved from Loudoun County, Virginia, some from Scott County, Kentucky. Coles County, IL after 1851 and before 1860 Heritage and the Myers families. The Myers were originally from Germany, and migrated through Pennsylvania. Harrison County, VA now WV around 1838ish  the Clevengers, Kincheloes, Gallaspeys, probably the Knights moved to points west. Daviess County and Ohio County, KY before 1850 Sinnett family, Steerman Scott County, KY mid 1850s Kendricks

Candee I posted something similar on our website at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilwayne/migrations/migrations.html Maybe folks have forgotten or failed to see the link to "Migrations" on our home page index. My format is a simplied format to let folks show where families migrated using earliest known place to latest know place, for example: States of Migration Surname Researcher MA > CT > VT> OH> IL Branch Carolyn (with a link to her email address at the time posted) This shows the Branch family migratied from MA to CT to VT to OH to IL and Carolyn is researching this family. Anyone that wants new families posted, let me know.
