Candee Thank you so much. I fully understand being shaken up by loss of friends. I began my genealogy research in earnest after the death of both my parents in 1996 leaving me the oldest generation in my line at the age of 46. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever expect that to happen. It made me realize the importance of collecting family history which I took so much for granted with having 5 generations alive in my time more than once. Now I realize how fragile life and family history is. It's so easy to be lost forever if someone in a family is not willing to collect information and pass it on. I was fortunate to run into Clark Flint and he sent me a wonderful package of information on my Flint line after he saw my posting that I was descended from Samuel Flint through his daughter Martha Jane Flint. I have a photo of Martha Jane Flint and her husband Squire Davis and their children as adults. It's wonderful to have photos of your ancestors as well as facts and history about them. Do you know anyone you have been communicated with that submitted John Hall for DAR? I joined DAR last year on another member of my family last year but think it would be wonderful history lesson for my children and grandchildren to know just how many of our ancestors actually were in the Revoutionary War. According to DAR records, someone has registered John Hall.
