    3. Hi. I am searching for more info. on the connection between Rebecca LLOYD ALEXANDER BROWN b. VA ca. 1821 and her second husband James BROWN b. ca. 1822 OH. They married in November of 1859, (Wayne County Newspaper Gleanings), after Rebecca LLOYD's first husband, Phillip ALEXANDER, d. in 1856. Phillip and Rebecca LLOYD ALEXANDER had the following children: 1850 Census: i. E. A. ALEXANDER age 7 F b. OH ii. Car..prob. Calvin C. ALEXANDER age 5 M b. OH iii. M. J. ALEXANDER age 3 F b. OH iv. John ALEXANDER age 0/12 M b. IL Rebecca LLOYD ALEXANDER BROWN and James BROWN appear in the James BROWN household in the 1860 Census. The same children appear as above in addition to my GGrandmother: v. Elmira ALEXANDER b. 1852 age 8 b. IL. She m. Asa HAYNES POTTER Feb. 26, 1871 Wayne Co. IL. Ceremony performed by Benjamin MEEKS at the home of N. C. and Jane AUSTIN ALEXANDER, her Aunt and Uncle. Also In the James BROWN household 1860 Rebecca LLOYD ALEXANDER and John BROWN are shown having: i. Horace BROWN M age 7 m. M b. IL In the 1870 Census, I can no longer find the BROWNS. However in the household of Peter BEEMER b. OH and Elizabeth LLOYD BEEMER are listed: Horace BROWN M age 10 b. IL Hulda BROWN F age 4 F b. IL A James BROWN enlisted in Co. G 56th IL Infantry in 1862. In his enlistment papers, he is said to be a widower. This man d. ca. 1895 and is buried in BUCKEYE Cemetery, Wayne Co. IL, listed as being on Honor Roll B. My question is, if "this" James BROWN is the widower of Rebecca LLOYD ALEXANDER, and claims as such, how can Hulda BROWN age 4 appearing in the BEEMER residence in 1870, be their daughter? Rebecca would have d. ca. 1866???? if this is so. Why claim to be a widower in 1862, discharged in 1865 and his children are still with the BEEMERs in 1870??? And........where is Rebecca buried? I would love to know. To cause more confusion, a dau. of David and Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM ALEXANDER, also by the name of Rebecca, m. James BROWN's brother, Samuel BROWN. Both are buried in KOONTZ Cemetery, Wayne Co. IL. Any ALEXANDERs, BROWN's, or BEEMER's out there with any clues? Many thanks. Elaine Suhre
