This one is driving me nuts. Charles H. Hill was born August 21, 1857 in Wayne Co., Illinois to Thomas M. Hill and Susannah Cummings. His father died from measles in Kentucky during the Civil War on January 26.1862. His grandfather, John Green Hill, then became the guardian of Charles and his little brother Edgar, but Edgar died 1864. Susannah Cummings Hill died from consumption March 27, 1864. Thomas and Susannah are buried in the Yarnall Cemetery in Wayne Co. Now my dilemma, I can't find Susannah or Charles on the 1860 census either under Hill or her maiden name in Wayne or any surrounding counties. I found Charles in the 1870 census in Bedford Township living with his grandparents and then nothing. Is anyone hunting this person, knows what happened to him or anything about this distant relative of mine? Thanks. Jerilyn
