My name is Brenda Gracin. I am a great great granddaughter of James Polk Burkitt. His wife, my great great grandmother was named Mary. James and Mary had two children, Winnifred and Joseph. Winnifred had one child Vently Owen Carter. Joseph married Alice Coil in 1891. They had ten children, Eldridge, Dessie, Winnie, Terry, Mamie, Obe, Pearl (my grandmother) her twin Earl, Raymond, and James. My grandmother Pearl married Kelly R. Harmon and gave birth to Oakley, Melvin, Lulabelle and Fern. All were born in Wayne County Illinois, Orchardville to be exact. I am searching for any information on my family and hope that you can somehow post this info. I did receive my great great grandfather's muster papers, and do have pictures of my great grandfather Joseph and his wife Alice, along with pictures of their children, and their children.
