1. [ILWAYNE-L] Immigrations
2. I do not know what cause it, but there seemed to be a immigration from Jackson Co.,TN to Franklin and Union Co, IL between about 1850-1860 and then to Wayne Co. Some of these families came from Washington Co TN earlier, and prior from Rockingham Co. VA. The Thomas McMackin Wilson and Rachel Fulkerson family came from Butler Co. KY between 1820-1838. Fulkerson Family History and Genealogy Introduction Page...Continued 9/16/2001 {www.fulkerson.org} FULKERSON INDEX are two great sites for Fulkersons. The McMackins and Wilsons were from Greene/Washington Cos. in TN. There was another Wilson family that I think of as the Joseph Wilson family that probably lived in the Barnhill area. The family of Thomas was in the part north and east of Fairfield. Probably in Jasper and Massilon. When I say probably, I am speaking from memory. I am having eye problems and can't do much checking of my material. If we could get something on the web site telling the place of origin of the various family, I feel it would help others. 3. Dorris I know my Butler family moved from Butler's Landing in Jackson County, TN because of the Civil War. My great great grandfather Franklin Walker Butler, disagreed with his father, Bailey Butler, over the slavery issue and moved to Illinios in the spring of 1865. Franklin and another relatived owned a general store and they were burned out over their political beliefs. I suspect the migration from North Carolina through Tennesee and on to Illinois had a lot to do with Daniel Boone and others carving out the trail and it being one of the main "road" pioneers were taking as they migrated west.
