Hi all! I wish I knew of an online cemetary listing for Wayne County that you didnt have to pay to buy a book! I have been told that possibly my great grandfather George William TAYLOR is buried with his wife Catherine SPICER in Jacobs Chapel Cemetary in Orchardsville. I would love to know what details might be written on his stone if any at all. I have traced his movement from OH to Wayne County as my elusive grandfather William C Taylor, his son seems to have a big gap between George and Catherine's marriage in 1852 and William C marriage in 1912 in Cairo IL. Any help or further details on this couple would be greatly appreciated! I am looking forward to being on this list!
I too wish the cemeteries were online. Maybe we could start an effort to get volunteers together to walk the cemeteries and photograph the gravestones like they've done in Jefferson County. I took lots of pictures at Thomason Cemetery (near Wayne City), Salem (Davis-Mateer) Cemetery and Farnsworth (Mt. Zion) cemetery when I was back there over Labor Day last year. I plan on spending a week this Labor Day going back to the cemeteries and taking more pictures. Anyone else interested in starting this project?
