Thanks to Sherry Cissna Hewitt, we now have Martin Creek Cemetery information on our Wayne County website. It has not been proof read yet but you are welcome to take a peak: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilwayne/cem/martincreek/index.html I took lots of pictures while I was in Wayne County this past week. Unfortunately, it took me a lot longer than I thought to photograph the gravestones of the cemeteries I did visit. I did Egbert, Miflin, Farnsworth (still not all of it but a big majority), Davis-Mateer (Salem - hopefully most of this one) and one in Jefferson County, Black Oak Ridge that has so many of many ancestors. Good thing I took a photo of Mt. Zion Methodist Church last year since some kids have burned it completely to the ground so Farnsworth is now a cemetery without a church. I will be working on getting all these photos online as quickly as I can. Harry Bryan is working on the information for Bailey Cemetery and hopes to have it ready for the website within a few weeks. Anyone else with time to photograph gravestones or if you already have photographs, please contact me. My aunt joined me from North Carolina and we had a real "trip down memory lane". She also contacted Jack Kelly and had him remove the concrete base and make a new one for my grandparents graves and he did it while we were there last week so she could see the work completed. He did a great job. Anyone needing to reset a gravestone that has started sinking can contact Jack to get a fair price for repairs. I am still catching up on email since I just got home this evening so if I have not replied to your email, give me a day or two to get caught up. We are slowly getting more cemetery information online. We need all the help we can get. I would like to organize a "work party" for next year when I make the trip back to Wayne County. I think it would go quicker if we had a team of two working on a cemetery. I had a cousin help me on Friday and she brushed the stones so I could photograph them. If anyone would like to participate next year the week of Labor Day, let me know. Sandy
