Wayne Co., IL Researchers Just to let you know I added 1 new article to the site, please take the time to read it. One of our own researchers just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!! I have not been avoided the site with data. I have been very busy 'repairing pages. Each page USED to have 3 logos (ILGenWeb, USGenWeb, and 1 rootsweb) on the top 3 lines of links about the disk space / our providers Now each page MUST have that removed plus the "I love rootsweb" logo on the bottom of each page. PLUS, for each person that submitted on article or data to the site, you are now the copyright owner of that data on that page! This means another web site or organization can not copy it to place on their web site or sell it without your permission. As you know there are several 'charging for membership' or 'selling data' web sites. I am putting the 'copyright and submitted by' on each page so neither of them can 'sell' or 'make money' off of your free data. At the bottom of the page, the copyright is for the 'design' or 'layout' of the page. Fixing each page is VERY time consuming, as we now have over 20,000 pages of data with those 3 logos and lines on top and 1 logo on the bottom that must be removed and, to add the 'copyright' on the top of the page. I apologize for not getting new data on the site or uploading data that was sent to me within the past 6 months. I ask that you be patient with me so that I can 'protect' this site and keep it free genealogy. Thanks!
