    1. [ILWAYNE-L] Wayne City Lappin Avenue
    2. I was in Wayne Co., this morning taking a detour on our way home from Kentucky. My only desire in this small amount of time was to find the Lappin Cemetery and we did more or less by accident. I was quite happy, but sad about the state of the stones of my ancestors. Pretty sorry. Anyway the reason for this query is that when driving through Wayne City, I looked up and there was Lappin Avenue. Now I would like an explanation of who of my relatives they named this street for? I know which family lived around there, but wondering who was so famous as to have this short street named after them. Would love to know. I am a descendant of Robeson Lappin who is buried in Lappin cemetery. His children were Elizabeth Taylor, Mary Hawk and Robert Lappin who stayed in Wayne Co. My great great grandfather, William Kirk and his sisters, Eliza Jane Hansacker/Bucklew, Sarah Porter, Rachel Johnson/Cook, and Ann Wilson went to Logan, Kansas. Four children are buried with their father in Lappin Cemetery, George, Allise Spriggs, Sylvester and Phebe Telitha. Brother John Wesley went to Oklahoma. Robeson's sister, Alice Montgomery, his brother, Knight Lappin also are buried in the cemetery. The Slusher family there are most likely the grandparents of William Kirk's wife, Sarah Elizabeth Monroe. Also Elizabeth Sill is a sister of Sarah's mother, Phebe Slusher. Lydia Lappin, wife of Robert who remained in Wayne Co., is another sibling of Elizabeth and Phebe. Their brother Christopher is buried at Lappin Cemetery with his parents Frederick and Elizabeth Slusher. This is only one area of my background in Wayne Co. You have to check on the Hills, Dyes, Wilkisons, States, Smith, Waller, Leak, etc. All are connected to my tree. Hope this didn't confuse anyone. I would like to know about the Lappin Avenue in Wayne City. Jerilyn Lappin Koskan
