Carolyn, I have two Matilda Branch's. One b. 1823 M. 17 Feb 1858 Piatt co ILL to Peter William Trotter b. 1823 Frederick co VA, the son of Wm. Trotter and Barbara Dick. The other is b. about 1855 m. In Clinton co ILL to William Trotter b. 1855 (d. Wichita KS) the son of William Trotter and Mary Trotter. I would have to check my paper records as I may have the Matilda part wrong , it seems to me all I had on one of these ladies was Miss Branch and may have entered Matilda in error on one. Sound familiar ?
