    1. Migration Patterns of Wayne County early residents
    2. I have a file that was collected on the migration patterns of early residents of Wayne County, IL. Before the Wayne County rootsweb group was organized as it is today, when we had an absentee coordinator, we tried to collect information about the county. Keeping in mind that the email addresses will probably be changed, I can post the data just for some direction in where you might want to start looking. Remember back in the early days, groups were formed to travel the wilderness. The safety in numbers theory. So I picture someone putting the call out to migrate west, maybe even for the great rush to get land cheap, anyway they came to Wayne County in packs. Some moved on further West, maybe some were stragglers and just couldn't move any farther, but they came and mostly with friends and relatives. If you are interested, and if I can locate it, I will be happy to post this list. Let me know. Candee Hoff

    1. Halls - Flints and so many more families--
    2. I feel a little funny giving out this information, because I am not the author. However, if you understand that my records are like an encyclopedia of information, some of which I can verify and others are just what people over the years have sent me, I will be glad to help you with the Hall family. I give permission to anyone in the future if something happens to me to spread the knowledge of my work and suppositions on to anyone who sounds the call for help. It is come to me recently how fragile these genealogy friends are. You see lately I have lost a pen pal and I didn't even know he was gone until my email bounced. Didn't even know last his name, Ten years we have been discussing everything including genealogy. Double that experience by another pen pal has been very ill and is preparing his files for when he is not around. I guess the experience has shaken me up. My name is Candee Hoff and I live in the Chicago area. Having said all that I will also quote who gave me the information and where if I know you can contact them or if it is a record, where you should be able to find it. I am by no means the expert on the Hall family, as a matter of fact, Dianna is much more in tune with them than I will ever be. Clark Flint and Sue Carlisle have been wonderful pen pals over the years, as well as Dianna (even before she became the coordinator. 3. Rebecca Warfield and William Hall were married in 1842. John Warfield and Rebecca Warfield are her parents, I think. I noticed the sons are listed but the daughters are called heirs. The Rebecca Hall listed as an heir is the one married in 1842. Her marriage license recording is a scrap of paper kept in the vault at HCI courthouse and which I have seen. William and Rebecca are my gggrandparents John and Rebecca Warfield are my ggggrandparents. I don't know about anyone in White county although I think there was a Rebecca Hall who married in the 1870s or later. She is not my Rebecca. 2. I have been sitting on the sidelines, because the information I am about to impart is not my original work. However, I do have first hand knowledge about the Rebecca Hall that you have been mentioning. Candee Abstracts of Wills; Hamilton County, Illinois 1821-1915 by Hazel Lea Neff Page 99: John Warfield Will Box #1 File #23 Date Written: 18 January 1854 Witnesses: James M. Heard, William C. Matheny, John Hood, Anthony Coker Death Date: Date filed: 20 January 1854 Executor: C. R. Pittman Wife: Rebecca Warfield Sons: William Warfield, John W. Warfield, Heirs: Mary Irvin, Nancy Trotter, Rebeca Hall [sic], Sarah Rolls, Jane Davis, Mahulda Holyday, Martha Close (Crouse) So that means that by 1854 Rebecca Warfield was married to a Hall. That coincides with the marriage in Hamilton County, IL on June 23, 1842. In the 1870 White County, IL census there is William and Rebecca Hall. with some Anderson children. The Oldest Anderson is Solomon age 17, b. in 1853 in Indiana. According to Jeanne Gold (JeanneGold@iname.com): William HALL, b. 1821-1822 in TN, md. (1) Sep 17, 1851]White Co., IL Mary BRYANT, b. 1835/6 in IL, dau. of Solomon & Martha Bryant Issue: Solomon Rankin HALL, b. 1852-1853, m. Nora E. POMROY; John William HALL, b. Oct 1854, m. HARVEY According to Brian Green <bsgreen@juno.com> William HALL m. (2) Mar 31, 1865 in White Co., IL to Rebecca A. POMROY, b. ca 1830. Children of William and Rebecca: Enoch HALL, b. ca 1867, m. Susan PHIPPS, dau. of POMROY; Charlotte HALL, b. ca 1870; and Clarence HALL, b. ca 1878. These Halls were all over Hamilton, White, and Gallatin Cos. Brian Green was the source for the marriage of William Hall to Rebeccan Pomroy. other miscellaneous facts: 1860 White Co., IL census: 354/344 Hall, William 38 TN Mary* 25 IL Solomon R. 7 IL John W. 5 IL Abram 3 IL Laura A. 7/12 IL *possibly Mary Bryant. If Mary is the parent of all these children, she would have been 18 when the first (Solomon R.) was born. Their neighbors were: 352/342 Mary Bryant's parents and siblings Bryant, Solomon 50 TN Martha 47 IL Thomas 18 " Peter 15 __ Martha 14 " James W. 12 " John 10 " Lucinda 8 " Susan 4 " Bramlett, Willis 22 " 353/343 Mary brother and his family Bryant, Benj. 23 IL Alcy A. 24 " Conspicuously, their were the Pomeroy/Pumroy families at 357/347 and 358/348, which is maybe how he knew his second wife, Rebecca A. Pomroy. In conclusion, there are two William Halls and both were married to Rebecca. One married Rebecca Warfield, and the other married Rebecca Pomeroy.

    3. Candee I wonder if the Jane Davis mentioned is my gg grandmother, Martha Jane Davis b 31 May 1831 d 24 Jan 1908. She was the daughter of Samuel Flint and Rebeccah Hall. She was the wife of Squire Flint and they lived in Four Mile Twp, Wayne Co around Middleton. When I was back in IL two years ago with my mom's sister, she showed me where Squire and Martha Jane used to live. Samuel Flint's wife, Rebeccah Hall, was the daughter of John Hall Sr. and Mary "Polly" Broadway. 1. Ida Rose, granddaughter of William and Rebecca Hall

    3. I found an Ida Rose who married a Philip Moore in Sangamon County IL. Ida was the daughter of Julie and Riley Rose. Julie's sister, Artamissa Hall, married a Charles Edmund Yocum and lived in Sangamon County. I think Ida somehow met someone who lived near her Aunt Artamissa. I also think William Hall, Julie and Artamissa's father, came from the Sangamon County area. I believe the Halls who lived in that area are his relatives. My gr gr grandfather, George M. Hall, was sent north to some relatives to get his schooling beyond what he could get in HCI and I think he must have gone to the Sangamon County area for this. Bill Graddy said William Hall and his sister came to HCI alone. I do not know what his sister's name was, perhaps the Mary E. Wilson in the 1880 census is that sister. Mary and the other inhabitants of that family site may have come to live there after William Hall died. That may be the William Hall farm where Mary Wilson is living. Lynda Lynda Lane Miller

    3. Thanks so much. I recall Bill Graddy, a second cousin, that Julie and Riley Rose did live on the William and Rebecca Hall farm. I looked up the coordinates one time and my farmer husband and I went to HCI and found the site. I seem to recall it was on the Rubenacker farm not far from Belle Prairie. How far is the Dahlgren line from Belle Town. 3. Sandy We just keep moving around the edges of the same families. I don't know any more about the Rose family, only that Julie Ann Hall, daughter of William Hall married a Rose. Of course Rebecca Warfield, Mrs. Wm. Hall was a sister to Mrs. Wm. Davis, I think. I seem to recall that there was at least another Warfield daughter who married there in the area. I know my mother talked a lot about Great Aunt Julie. I think she was my grandmother's (Gertrude Hall, daughter of George Mathias Hall and Margaret Kaufmann Hall) favorite Aunt.
