Jeanne, Yes, I know of the book you mentioned. However, the Enterprise that it refers to is an area on the eastern border of Edwards County next to Wabash County and not the Enterprise in Wayne County. It's two different areas about 20 miles apart. Does anyone know about the book "THE STORY OF OLD PINCH, OR ENTERPRISE, BY THE GANG" by William A. Briggs, published 1953-1956, maybe in Gary Indiana. The library entry for it shows: Subject (LCSH): Pinch, Ill. Edwards County (Ill.)--History. Subject (Other): Enterprise, Ill. Did this part of Wayne County used to be in Edwards County? Since both my Boon and McClure ancestors settled in Wayne County first in Enterprise I am interested in finding and reading this book. Does anyone know anything about it or have a copy of it? Jeanne

Jared and Ruth Shoemake Michael from Dearborn County, Indiana, 1851. John Medley and Nancy Jane Edwards Strange from Daviess County, Indiana. 1851.
I have that Etta Lane married Leo Hall in Hamilton county, IL on Oct. 31, 1905. Etta's parents were Elizabeth Jane Shorb and Thomas Casey Lane. The source on this information is Connie Sheets. Leo Hall was a member of the William Hall family of Wayne County and his mother was Augusta Belle Clark ( of the William R. Clark family). William Hall could have been married twice. Candee Hoff
ALL of my Mom's family came from either Hamilton or Wayne Co's. I have a cousin, b. in the 50's in Dahlgren, Hamilton Co., who said she never dated in H.School because every guy she ever brought home her mom told her she was related to, in some way. She later met this guy in Utah and married him. She also wanted to "be sure"! My grandmother was proud of the fact that she had not married a cousin like everyone else in Belle Town. One day, my Gr Grandmother Lane was sitting on her front porch in the swing and told her that she had figured out that she and her husband were something like third or fourth cousins. Good Grief, Dianna, I want, need and must have copy of this book. I had not idea it was available. It would enhance my research of:: SHARP, HOSSELTON, HUBBLE, FIDLES, BRUMMETT, and so many, many more. Thank you for mentioning it. I will look on the website and see what is left that is available. Perhaps, I could have the book and then give it to Ladybug when I am finished......HMMMMMMMMMMMM, not good. That would mean you would not be with us to help us along. Forget the idea. Migration Patterns: Let's start a list to put on the website which will list three pieces- 1 County/State that your ancestors and relatives migrated from right before arriving in Wayne County, IL 2 Time frame of the migration 3 Surname of the family migrating to Wayne County, IL Here is my example and if anyone has a better method then we can revise the process. We can just continue to add to the list. Athens County, OH abt 1853 Families came and settled in the Cisne, IL area. Families such as the Stevens, Nichols, Cummings, Speed, Taylor, and Carson families. Some of these families went on to Wapello County, Iowa. The majority of these families moved from Loudoun County, Virginia, some from Scott County, Kentucky. Coles County, IL after 1851 and before 1860 Heritage and the Myers families. The Myers were originally from Germany, and migrated through Pennsylvania. Harrison County, VA now WV around 1838ish the Clevengers, Kincheloes, Gallaspeys, probably the Knights moved to points west. Daviess County and Ohio County, KY before 1850 Sinnett family, Steerman Scott County, KY mid 1850s Kendricks
