Wayne Co., IL Researchers HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope this year goes much better as the days go on, ha! Since AT&T @home.com mess up, I have been having problems with my system. Hi, was wondering-- is there a book of the naturalizations in White, Edwards, Wayne, or Wabash Counties? If there is no book, are there records that are kept somewhere and where would they be? I am looking for any record on any Haizmans/Heitzman/Heitsman (or any spelling variant), records on an Agnes Link, and records on any Gutekunst/Goodarts that lived in the area. And by the way, a while ago I saw where someone was looking for a Knust in the IL area-- Knust is a local name here in Dubois Co., IN, (about 50-70 miles west of the IL counties I mentioned). There is a nice Dubois Co web page that has all the census, and I do have the book of naturalizations from Dubois Co that I can do a look-up. E-mail me personally at [email protected]

Dianna, Jim, LIST: I received the following, comforting information from another researcher with concerns about the useful online government databases this evening: >>>"I sent a message to Firstgov.Gov and received the following reply: Thanks for sending your message to FirstGov. The Department of Interior (includes Bureau of Land Management) has taken down its websites in response to a court order. They're slowly starting to bring sites back up, so hopefully they'll return to full service soon. FirstGov Feedback Team" <<< Thankfully, it looks like the disconnect was indeed temporary. The feds must have needed to remove sensitive data (Indian Trust), update and put it back online. Just have to wait to see what our government's definition of "soon" is, this time! <g> Diane - KinDetective @ aol == In a message dated 12/15/01 11:01:09 AM, [email protected] writes: << From: d1anna <[email protected]> =============== To Researchers The U.S. Department of the Interior, has been directed by court order to disconnect all databases that allow access to "individual Indian trust data".
