    1. [ILWAYNE-L] Who owns land now at Barnhill Road & Hiway 45 intersection
    2. . On October 24, 1848 Silas Wilson purchased from Charles W and Susan Atteberry 40 acres of land in Wayne County, in fact at the Barnhill Road-Highway 45 intersection. I am trying to find out just who did Charles and Susan get the land from? Not being able to find the land records for this land purchase, I thought perhaps if I could contact the present owners of the land they may have the land records. Does anyone on the list know who owns the land at this intersection now? Thanks for your help. Warm Regards, Lois Branch http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/b/r/a/James-E-Branch/

    3. Wayne Co., IL Researchers, I am trying to find info on the SORK family. Since I have most of the Super Bundle WFT CDs (by Family Tree Maker), I did a search and found some SORK but nothing on the one that ties to my line. Is there anyone researching the following Surnames that tie into the SORK? Vol 2 Book, Cline, Stout, Anderson, Spane, Gregory, Atkinson, Keen If so, let me know a little more info on that line and if there is a match, I'll send the GED.COM file. Thanks! 3. These are the Davis members that I have gleaned from the lineage reports that I was sent..I'm sure there is a way to put more order to this, but right now I'm just going through it to pull out the Davis names so that you may know if this fits your lineage or not... Julius Ceasar Taylor married Margaret Davis Dec. 20, 1849 in Muskingum Co OH b Oct. 6, 1823 d Jan. 31, 1897 they both are buried in Behtel Methodist Church Cemetary Muskingum County OH (Julius did by land in Wayne County in 1854, so it is possible they may have lived there for a period of time) Clinton Correl Taylor married Mary Jane Davis Jan 1 1856 in Muskingum Co OH. b Oct. 12, 1838 d. Nov. 23, 1902 Clinton and Mary Jane are buried in Bethel Methodist Cemetary, Highland Twp. Muskingum OH. Row 12, North end. Isaac Newton Roberts b Muskingum Co OH married Almeda A Davis Feb. 3, 1867 Muskingum OH James Monroe Mock b 1844 Loudoun Co Va married Martha A Davis April 10, 1862 Coles Co IL (2)Catherine Zimmerman, Nov. 22, 1866 Coles Co IL (3) Elizabeth P McDonald Jul 2, 1867 Coles Co. In the 1880 Wayne County Census Page 33 D John Taylor 43 farmer OH Martha Taylor wife 42 OH Sina Taylor dau 11 IL James B Taylor son 9 William Dailey Father 86 VA In the Wayne County News tidbits I found John Taylor born 1836 in OH died July 24, 1894 near Johnsonville age 58 leaves wife and 2 children.

    3. This Davis line may also be my line. I have an Elijah Davis (1828-1861) who died in Jeff Co, IL. He was married to Sarah Upchurch to produce our line. This is info from my Aunt. I haven't documented it but that was her GGfather. Their children were Thomas Martin (my line) & James F. 3. My ggg grandfather Henry Elijah Davis b 6 Mar 1810 Surry Co, NC married 27 Nov 1828 in Surry Co, NC to Susannah Taylor b 1811. Henry Elijah Davis died in Jefferson Co, IL bet 1861-1865. I believe Susannah's parents may be William Taylor b 1778 in VA d 23 Jan 1815 in VA in War of 1812 and Susannah Singleton b 1780 in VA died 18 Nov 1829 in Surry Co, NC. I am waiting patiently for a packet of info in snail mail. As soon as I have it, I will share all. Right now looking at your info above, It is possible that William Taylor Born 1778 VA is a brother to John Taylor b 1777 from either my John who died 1859, or John Taylor-Susan Mobley. The dates are close for birth. The fact that they ended up in Jefferson County next to Wayne is also compatible. Here again we have the repeat of Susannah, from her mother maybe, or from "aunt" Susannah married to uncle John. I have a William, maybe from Uncle William Taylor, and my George's middle name is William. I wish they were more original in their name giving sometimes! I will search more for your William info too...this is possible, anything is!

    3. I too am confused with all of the John Taylors, that's why I throw it out to the group for discussion. With John Taylor-Susan Mobley, i found info in the older Wayne mailing lists that said his father was Jesse. Well, mine is a Jesse too, strange isn't it! Jesse's son John was born 1772 died 1857 according to the mailing list. I have also John's death as Sept 19, 1859. John's Susan Mobley..my John's Susannah Mock...see my questions? John the son of Jesse, married to Susannah Mock is buried in Bethel Methodist Church cemetary in Muskingum OH.(she quoted sources) She quotes many intermarrying family names that were members of Bethel Mehtodist Church or the Lutheran Church in Adamsville, Muskingum OH...and that several of these families migrated to eastern Illinois. Tracing these families from Loudoun Co VA to Muskingum Co OH and now me tracing them to Wayne Co, Illinois, I see repeat of Bethel Church, names such as Mocks, Taylors, Davis Honnolds, Shrigleys, Shivleys, Virts Roberts, Adams...all in the census records in Wayne County. As much as I hate to say it, I am working strictly off online census records and reading every single posting daily in Taylor Research Yahoo, GenForum, Wayne mailing list, Rootsweb archives, anything I can find because here in Belgium accessibility to the real documents is archeaic. I then write e mails to the "interesting postings" in hope of sharing all the info accumulated between us and then someone else connects. I have managed to build this (undocumented by me), family existence on my Taylor line by sheer luck, contacts and a lot of wonderful people. I in turn keep track of who I correspond with, if I run across their surnames when I surf and search, I copy and paste and send them the info I find in other surnames. I am the baby of the original Taylor line, there are only two Taylor males left, they have daughters. I want to build this Taylor line for my youngest nephew...so he knows who he is and me, unmarried, and childless...who am I? Thanks for the responses! Freida

Does this Taylor/Davis line fit in with any information you have found? I'm going to Surry Co, NC over 4th of July and hope to find more information on both Davis and Taylor families there. 3. Hi! I have Jesse Taylor but no spouse. Their child was John m. Susan Mobley. John and Susan (Mobley) TAYLOR daughter, Elizabeth, m. DAvid Garrison. I know David and Elizabeth are buried at the Garrison Cem., Hamilton Co., IL. The data on "Elizabeth's side" I got from a Garrison Book. I have seen in one pedigree Jesse m. Susan Mobley and I believe as many items 'copied and not proven', this is wrong. You might want to try posting a query to the Hamilton co. mailing list too. Lots of Taylor and Garrison there and I'll finish reading your email. Thanks! 3. I would be interested in anything you find out about Elizabeth A. Butler. She may have been related to my Butler family in Wayne County. 1. [ILWAYNE-L] Family Tree Monogram?
    2. I need to make a family tree that can be put on an 11 by 11 piece of material that is being put into a memorial quilt for my daughter's birthday. All I have been able to find is just boxes and words and would like something that looks like a simple tree that could either be embroidered or ironed on the material. I am not artistic enough to draw even a simple tree so if anyone knows of where one might be downloaded from or a particular store you have seen that type of thing in I sure would appreciate some help. I have one that is great, but is too many generations and thus too large to fit the piece even if I shrunk it. Thanks a lot. Jerilyn
