    3. Wayne Co., IL Researchers, I have been looking over a WFT CD for a friend of mine. His line is Balbinot and I found a tree that ends at his great grandfather. Interesting part was, several of the lines mentioned are from Wayne Co., IL. Here's some of the Wayne Co., IL people listed. Anyone interested in this GEDCOM file, contact me private and I will send it to you. Names: McCORMICK BAUER THOMASON THOMPSON HOOPER WRIGHT (Andrew b. 1788 NJ and d. 1861 Wayne Co) WYLIE WAGNER VAUGHN TYLER and many more! BAD part is, not too many with dates, about 45% is "private" and 45% 'wft guessing game', 05% dates and places, and 05% dates. Just let me know if you are interested and if you have FamilyTreeMaker or a different 'tree' software and I'll send it to you. Thanks! Dianna

Looks great and easy to get around in. Have you two thought about including the address of the web page in every Digest mailing with the "Administrivia:"? Everytime my computer hiccups I lose my "favorites" hotlinks and have to go through the search on rootsweb to find the Wayne County page address. Sure would be nice to have it handy when we read the list. Keep up the good work! Carolyn Remember, you have a friend in Oklahoma! 1. [ILWAYNE-L] New home page design for Wayne County
    2. Sandy Bauer
    3. Hello Fellow Wayne County Researchers - Dianna and I have completed the redesign for our Wayne Co, IL Genealogy website. Thanks for the postiive feedback on the new design. We will continue to try and keep the links on the left side of the page short and alphabetized to make it easy to find information. We have also given you two ways to search the website. You can fill in the box on the top of the left side or you can click on the "search now" link to go to the full page on the right for entering search information as you have been doing in the past. I have also added some new pages to make it easier to find cemeteries and books related to them that Doris Bland has done. Since Doris published her books in the 1970's I am sure some of the information in her books will cover gravestones no longer able to be found or read. I have provided a list that allows you to choose how you want it sorted: by cemetery name, by township name, by Doris's book volume number, or by the map marker number assigned it. I have also included the map to the county for the map marker numbers. Some of you may wonder why the new design. We were finding that some people were having difficulty finding information on the website now that we have so MUCH information. We were also having trouble ourselves keeping up with both websites - ILGenWeb and ILTrails - and decided to go back to just one website for ease in updating. Dianna is busy getting her home ready for sale and her upcoming move to Wayne County so I've been pitching in a little more than usual. I am still mainly focused on the Cemetery project and Photo project. I do have a full time job (including some 12 hour days like today) so my time is limited for adding to the website and I may not always get the information on the website as quickly as you think I should. Please be patient with me and I will get all the information you give me on the site. Thanks to Dianna and her tireless efforts to make Wayne County such a great website! Thanks to all of you for continuing to contribute information to share with everyone with roots in Wayne County. I am very excited about my trip over Labor Day to Wayne County and look forward to meeting some of you in person. As the time draws nearer, I will be trying to organize some walk-throughs of cemeteries. I will be bringing all my gear (digital camera, laptop computer, scanner, etc) to capture all the information I possibly can in one week. I will also be there to attend the Marlow family reunion in Bluford on Sunday before Labor Day. I look forward to your comments on the new design and any suggestions you may have to make our website easier for everyone to use. Some folks that have very old version of Netscape may need to upgrade to a new version. Here's a link where you can go to get the free upgrade to Netscape version 4.79: http://home.netscape.com/download/0314102/10000-en-win32-4.79-complete-128_qual.html Of course, you can also upgrade to the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer as well: Sandy Bauer

    2. Dear list, I live in suburban Chicago and have heard quite a bit about the disaster in Wayne Co. It has been on the news daily, WGN radio...and today there was an article in our local paper, The Daily Herald about the fatality being the first in the nation this year. I heard that Gov Ryan was traveling there to survey the damage. I hope you all who live in the county are doing as best as you can under the circumstances and that you have people around the state and country thinking of you. Bridget
