I would greatly ap- preciate learning more about this family but I have not been able to locate the 1840 census (except Gallatin, Greene, and Jefferson). Would someone be willing to check the 1840 Illinois census for John Church, please. Since the younger children are listed as having been born in Illinois, I'd assume the family was in that state in 1840. Thanks.

This is in regards to John Church again. I went back another 10 years and found him in Tennessee. (I noticed from the 1850 census that his oldest son had a birth state of Tenn.) 1830 census--Rutherford County, TN, page 283 John W. Church Males 1 of 5 and under 10 1 of 30 and under 40 Females 1 of 5 and under 10 1 of 30 and under 40 There are a couple other Church households in Rutherford County on the 1830 census--- Robert on page 295 1 male 50-60, 1 female 40-50 Thomas on page 268 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-10, 2 males 10-15, 1 male 40-50 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-10, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 40-50 Lynne
