Hello list, I am frustrated right now! I ordered from our LDS library the two films that each had 1/2 of the 1880 Washington County census. I had found my Buss clan in the Venedy township in 1860, 1870, so I expected to find them there in 1880. In fact, since his great-great grandson now owns the same farm that has passed through the generations, I knew I would find the family there. I knew also at about what point I would find them. Well......the census records the Mormons have (all copies, I'm told) have the Venedy township as entirely unreadable. It seems the person used a type of pencil or pen that has faded with time and the Mormons say that that township is unreadable for eternity now. I'm hoping this statement of theirs is wrong and that someone will know how to obtain a readable copy of the census records for the Venedy township of Washington County for the 1880 federal census. If you do, could you let me know where and if you have one yourself, could you look up the family of John Buss (sometimes Johann)? Thank you. Russell
