Dear Tim?, What are you planning your research about? What church? Do you know the cemetery? Do you know the address they lived at? Do you know how to use land records? Are you planing to go to Nashville? The courthouse? I have never been to the courthouse. I have been wanting to visit St. Michaels Cemetery in Radom, and the Nashville Library and the W.C. courthouse, but would be my first time looking for records in the courthouse..would need advise, probobly a guide! My old Radom/Ashly/Beaucoup ancestors..probobly didn't even file death certs! I remember when I was a kid..visiting Uncle Johnny's farm..(my GGM was born on that farm in 1888!) I think it was route 2 Ashley...but route 2 Ashley today, isn't the same address (I don't think) as it was in 1888, or 1960's. I remember a bunch of cats on the farm..lol :). I remember a pond. I remember a barn. I remember an outhouse. I remember a water pump. I remember there was 2 houses there.. One of them..an old homestead (I think). My mom remembers that also. I do think Uncle Johnny sold the farm in the 1970's.. (remember farm aid?) and moved to Nashville city maybe..but shortly after..it killed him. I suppose it was a hard life. I think their land was bought from the Il. Central Railroad..! Very tough!. Uncle Johnny's son Leonard is on the W.C. Honor Roll for WWII. Leonard Krawiecki Imagine.. he was 19 years old! He died right at the end of the war.. in May 1945!!. Horrid. I don't know the details of his death..but the war with Europe was just over..I think he had to die somewhere near Japan. Anyway...this sounds silly, but..I'm thinking that most of the Polish in Radom/Beaucoup/Posen/Nashville/Dubois are related! If not by blood, then by marriages sinse the 1870's and onward. > >Today's Topics: > #1 [ILWASHIN] holzhauer [tomboelling@juno.com] > #2 [ILWASHIN] Simon [tomboelling@juno.com] > #3 [ILWASHIN] German life from Prussi [GDETTLEFF@aol.com] > #4 [ILWASHIN] visit to Illinois aroun ["Clarke, G Douglas" <clarkedj@info] > #5 [ILWASHIN] Simon [tomboelling@juno.com] > #6 Re: [ILWASHIN] Simon [tomboelling@juno.com] > #7 [ILWASHIN] visit to Illinois aroun ["Clarke, G Douglas" <clarkedj@info] > >Administrivia: >To unsubscribe from ILWASHIN-D, send a message to > > ILWASHIN-D-request@rootsweb.com > >that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > >and no other text.
