I've had a pretty good response to my offer of lookups for Washington County. I've been happy to do them. Unfortunately, most of them have not yielded any results, however I have found family histories for six of you. I'm posting this note to the list rather than write six different e-mails to those six. I am going to TRY and photocopy the pages rather than attempt to type out all of the information as this would take a good bit of time at the computer because some of them are a bit lengthy. Because of physical limitations on my part, sitting at my computer for extended periods is quite uncomfortable for me. The problem is that the book is large, thick and heavy which makes photocopying difficult. It's rather hard to manipulate a book of this size on a copy machine. I've tried to do this before with books of this size and it does get to be quite a job. Each page of this book has two columns of type. For those histories that happen to fall on the outside column of the page, it's not as difficult to get a decent copy, but for those histories that fall on the inside column next to the spine, it's sometimes difficult to get a decent copy because the type is so close to the spine as the page curves inward towards the spine and you must press down on the spine of the book in order for all of the page to come in contact with the copy bed. Sometimes you can do it, sometimes not. It also tends to break down the spine. I will take the book to the place where I make my copies and see what I can do. I'll do my best for all of you, but I can't make any promises. If I can make readable copies, I'll mail them to you. If I can't make readable copies, I'll just have to type them out a few at a time. I wish to return the favor that has been done for me so many times in the past. Because of family needs, I don't get out much so it may be a while before I can get the information to you. If each of you want to go on and send me your snail mail addresses, I'll have them already when I get the copying done. Since I have so many things go on all the time, you might periodically remind me if you don't hear from me. I hope that my efforts will bring excitement, as well as some needed information to all of you. I know myself that in the past when I received information like this, I was always so excited.
