    3. Since I am new to this list and do not know its rules, I hope that this posting will meet the guidelines of the list. If it does not, please accept my apology. I have just been given a copy of "Washington County, Illinois History". The book was copyrighted in 1980 although it was apparently written in 1979, since this date is actually part of the title as it appears on the Title Page. It was published by The Historical Society of Washington County, Nashville, Illinois. It's a great book and contains lots of information. The "Table of Contents" lists the following Chapters: General History Townships and Communities Churches Schools Family Histories Memorials and Tributes Organizations and Businesses Picture Album Index To my knowledge, I do not have any ancestors from this area, but I decided to subscribe to this list and offer to do some lookups for those people who might have ancestors from, and are doing research in, this area. I am subscribed to a great many lists and therefore receive many postings from these lists, so since I have no reason to subscribe to this one except to offer my help, I probably will not remain subscribed for long. As soon as I've finished helping those who need it, I will most probably unsubscribe, so you might make your requests as soon as possible. I will however respond to anyone who sees this post in the archives at a later date and sends me a request. I have been helped MANY times by others who have done this same thing for me so I would like to return the favor to them by offering to do lookups. I may not even receive any requests, but for those that do happen to write me, PLEASE give me time to answer you. I have a lot of things that take up my time as I know all of you do, plus I have my own research to do, so I won't have much time to spend on the lookups, so please be patient with me. I'll do my best to help anyone who needs it. I will either answer you on the list or off the list, whichever the Listowner prefers. I would appreciate hearing from the Listowner as to his/her preferences in this matter and will do as they wish. I sure don't want to cause any problems for them. I do have ancestors from Illinois, but unfortunately they were in Cook County (Chicago), which according to my map is a LONG way from Washington County. I sure wish this book was about Cook County. I hope this helps someone, Bill Atherton

    1. [ILWASHIN] Lookups Rosenbeck, Moenkhoff, Grossman, Hermann
    2. Jerry Cowley
    3. Hope most folks will allow these to be posted since that would mean you'd have less chance of being asked for the same information twice. Any information on surnames Rosenbeck, Moenkhoff, Grossman, or Herrman? I have a feeling you won't find it in the main entries, but if it shows up within others, it would still be valuable.
