Hi All: I just rec'd a reply to my recent letter to IRAD ============================================================ Mr. Middleton, Thanks for your continued interest in our efforts to preserve and get access to Washington County records. There are some efforts along official lines that I still cannot report on--efforts behind the scenes. But I will say that we have had no luck whatsoever up to this point. The county clerks at a recent Zone Meeting, at which the Washington County clerk was present, were informed of an opportunity to have records microfilmed at no cost by the Genealogical Society of Utah. I also invited them to make their marriage records available to us for inclusion in the online Statewide Marriage Index. Washington County and two or three others--out of 102 counties--are the only counties for which we have no data. Unfortunately there has been no response so far from Washington County! We haven't given up on Washington County and will continue to look for opportunities to gain their cooperation.
