    3. Written to the list: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ >>>>>In the Nashville News it states that in 1950 "The City of Nashville took possession of the abandoned cemetery on East Main Street. The latest date the cemetery had been used for burial was the 1840's and the City determined no need to move bodies because all had deteriorated" Does anyone have any idea what cemetery this was? Who was buried there? Any idea where it was?? <<<<< ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I phoned an old timer in Nashville regarding the above cemetery, and was told by her that she believed a prominent man/doctor bought that land and cleared it of all indications that it was a cemetery, and built a house on it. She knew of no record ever being taken of the names in the cemetery, but said she thought the Historical Society had a couple of the original stones. She said she thought the cemetery had various names, and the only one she could recall might be "HENLEY" ???????? Might be possible that someone that lives closer to Washington County than myself might look into this further. Regards, Robert P.S. I have never been able to find a burial site for my early MIDDLETON settlers, could they be there?????? Nashville was built on Middleton land. Robert J.
