I am new to this list and looking for help. John MEYER enlisted in the Union Army on Sept 3, 1861 in Nashville, IL. He joined the 10th Missouri Regiment Company E, which was composed of Volunteers from Washington County, IL. I have not been able to find anything about him before this. I could not find him in the 1860 census. I do know he married Fredericka HARTLIP and believe that to have been around 1869 or so and that they had 3 children; one of whom died in infancy. Fredericka later married Jacob KELLER. They settled in Hoyleton, managed a general store and had about 8 more children. Does anyone have anything else on John MEYER?
