For what it's worth, I believe the Peters Colony in north Texas was founded in the late 1800s by a large group of families from Illinois. I don't have relatives that were part of that movement -- have only read about it in local history brochures -- but if any of you connect to this sort of migration, I'd be glad to see what I can look up for you off-list.
