Hello all, I really feel the need to express my feelings at this time, and hopefully you all will not be judgmental and think that I am just spouting off. As far as this list goes it is/was one of the best that I am on. But in the past few days it seems that there has arisen a problem that needs to be addressed. Up until January 2nd, we were a happy group, posting alot of information that here-to-fore was not available. Alot has been learned and through great efforts on many peoples part, great strides have been made. All without flaming, and no fights or quarrels. Then we get a new member, who in my opinion, personally attacked "our" county. That county, sometimes my nemisis, sometimes my friend, but always my ancestry didn't deserve that. For all it's bad points, it was my ancestors home, and in that, it is my home. The attack was bad enough, but the flaming was not on the part of the older members, but from the new one. This should have been addressed by you, Robert. Instead, the way you came across it sounded that "we" (the older members of this list) needed a scolding in list ettiquette. This I felt was wrong. In your e-mail Robert (dated 1-4-2000), you address it specifically to John Theis and tell him that "There has not been a problem on the list in the past two years until the very recent "flames" which I put an immediate end to." Am I reading something wrong here, but it sounds as if you are letting him know that you have warned all of us, and that he was not at fault. In my opinion the warning should have been directed at him and not at us. Also, I am a little offended by your use of words...."MY LIST this, and "MY LIST" that. Correct me if I am wrong, but RootsWeb owns the list, and you are the moderator/administrator. And really, without all of "US" there would be no list. We are what make a list. In fact, "WE" are the list. I will hope that you do not take this as flaming, it is not meant that way. I have worked hard for the members here, (as many have), some of which have become personal friends. I really don't think that I needed to be scolded for something that someone else has done. Nor do I think that anyone on this list needed it . You and all may ask why I am posting this to the list and not to Robert personally. The reason is, that if I am going to be banned off this list, I want the reason known by all. I expressed my opinion and I am glad that I have. Marci Lamar Kasen
