My curiosity regarding GUY was a result of discovering from the original land purchase plat that Ervin Guy owned land on the North and South side of my John Maxwell. I have found no records in that area to link my James and John Maxwell of Randolph Co., MO (1835 - 1860) to the surname GUY, except that I did realize there were connections elsewhere between the two surnames. It is helpful for me to know that you have thoroughly researched your Thomas Maxwell line and feel relatively certain there is no connection to my line. You likely have saved me more fruitless hours of searching which I appreciate. Thanks!
