    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5g.2ADI/120.3 Message Board Post: Poitr Nowak can also be found on the 1880 census enumerated Nashville, Washington, ILLINOIS. There are several other children listed. Likely from the first marriage. One in particular which states he was born circa 1876 in Indiana. Then a daughter circa 1878 in Illinois. Perhaps the first wife died in childbirth. Poitr would have had to find a wife quickly to take care of this infant as well as the rest of the family. The church in Posen was not est until 1901. Posen from Radom about 10 miles which with a horse and buggy..I'll guestimate a 1/2 day drive... I think early at St. Michaels Polish Friars were the acting clergy..probobly made home visits.. The 1910 marriage years was probobly a guestimate..at 30 years... I would bet the marriage occured after 1876 up until 1880. Maybe even did occur in 1880 as the 1910 census says..with the distance of Posen to Radom..and the face that early priests acted as visiting friars. Barbie
