Hello List, I am a descendant of Robert Stuart COULTER and am interested in learning about his children, but in particular his son, JOHN WYLIE COULTER, who is my grgr grandfather. The Robert Stuart Coulter family moved from Madison County to St Clair County before 1850. They lived at one time on what was later known as the Fred Winter place, east of Marissa in Washington County. They later lived in a brick home located a short distance southwest of the site of the Dickey School. In 1850 John Wylie was living with his parents in District #20, Washington County. In 1860 he and his family lived in Union County. I don't know how soon after the Civil War he returned to Washington County. Maybe his family lived with his mother, Isabelle Coulter, while he was gone?? Then again in 1870 they lived in Township 4 S R 5 W. Is this Lively Grove?? I am anxious to find out about John Wylie Coulter. I've found information on genealogy sites about his brothers and sisters, but not about him.
