To: Jerry Johnson What Wilson family are you researching? My research is with Frank Wilson (1832-1918) and his brother Philip ( 1839-1874.) They were both born in NC and died in Washington Co., IL. Philip married Jane Martin who was born in 1852, Washington County. Linda Gerus Ljgerus@aol.com
Jerry, There are still lots of Coulters at Oakdale. Have you connected with any of them? Janeice Keady Crosson
Hi Gerald I saw your post. I'm looking for the Washington Co. connection to Robert and Addie Wilson. On the 1880 census Robert is 9 and Addie 2. They are living with their grandparents John McGill and & Evaline Rhea (Ist husband William Cameron). I have yet to figure out who the parents of the Wilson children are. Do you know? Other Families: Hawley, Pierce/Price, Miller, Jones, Tate, Earls, Ayers, Rhea Ida Ebert Troy, MO.
I just found cemetery records for Rebecca White Foster and Thomas Foster, plus many Coulters at this site: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/il/washington/cemetery/liberty.txt Linda lmart@crcwnet.com
I am interested in the information on Thomas and Rebecca, although I descend from Sidney White that married Meredith Castleberry. I have a death date for Rebecca of 3 August 1892, but no place of death. I have Thomas dying about 1891. Do you have any confirmation of a date of death for Thomas? Would appreciate knowing the children from Thomas and Rebecca along with dates and spouses. Linda lmart@crcwnet.com Washington County Surnames: Axley, Castleberry, Foster and White
Hello Gerald, I, too, am searching for information on the Coulters in Washington County, IL, 1818 - 1880. Maybe we can help each other and share what we know. Most of the Coulters were in Randolph County, but my line, although related, settled in Washington County. I am wondering if anyone else out there is working on the family of Thomas Foster (Forster), b. GA in 1807; died in Washington Co., IL in about 1891? He was married to Rebecca White. One of their daughter, Sarah Foster; married Joel Duncan Stephens. She was his second wife. Her sister married Joel's son by his first wife, Margaret Rhea. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am working on these folks, along with the Ferguson, Wilson, and Coulter families of the same area. Thanks in advance! Jerry Johnston

Hi List, I am back after a year and a half off. I am now trying to find anyone in Washington of Jefferson Co. that is researching the names listed. I just found in a probate box the name Victoria E. Downes (my great aunt) using the last name Reynolds. I am looking for any connection. I have the Downes info and will share anything I have. Elkton Cemetery is only a few miles out of Oakdale, on a paved road. IT has arecently been read and new rec ords are being made up. Perhaps, Randolph County Genealogy Society may know how to get a lookup. I have several grandparents and grand aunts and uncles buried there, myself. Have been there an photographed their stones. I am looking for any one that can tell me where I might find any information on this school. I was a student there for my first five years. The school was consolidated in the late 1940s I believe with Irvington but I am not sure. It was located about 4 or 5 miles south west of Irvington. I did find a Washington County, IL. marriage license for Frank Stawicki age 26 s/o Szymon & Barbara and Anna Dabrowiak age 18 d/o Joseph Dabrowiak & Michaelina Tomaszewski. On the record Frank's p.o.b. looked like Kosciclwa, Poland and Anna's p.o.b looked like Szczabica, Poland. Did you see this one?
