Ask them to do an inter-library loan. I'm sure the Mt. Vernon library has it as well as other libraries surrounding Washington Co. Another soft bound book I got that has many interesting stories about the history and founding of the small communities of Washington Co is; This is Washington County , Illinois Sesquicentennial 1818-1968

Surnames: Lively, Dickey Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5g.2ADI/55.1.1.1 Message Board Post: In the original Livelys of America book, I found Reuben Lively, b. 1815, who lived in Washington Co., IL during the 1850 census. He married Permelia Ford McBride and they had about 10 kids. One of those children was a Nancy J. and the census has her one year old (does this make her too young to be the Nancy Jane you're looking for?). This Nancy J. Lively was born May 22, 1850 (or thereabouts) and married Milton Wallace Dickey. Together, they had 9 children. Does any of this ring a bell? If so, I'll get more info. for you. You might also try the www.livelyroots.com website and follow the tree of Thomas Lively from South Carolina. Many of his descendants moved to the Washington or Randolph Co., IL areas. You'll find a few others with the Dickey name there too.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5g.2ADI/84.3 Message Board Post: A Thomas Livesay and William B. Livesay are listed among a few others to be the earliest settlers in Richview Precinct in about 1833. Most of the early settlers came from Tennessee. Old Richview was laid out in 1839 by William B. Livesay and was formerly called Richmond. Other additions were added to this town. Two of them by J.M Livesay and L.D. Livesay. Since it seems these were the only Livesay settlers, it is probably that they were the father or grandfather of your Thomas Livesay. This info is from the 1906 Combined History and Standard Atlas (Red Book) page 63.

1. [ILWASHIN] NASHVILLE MAP ON EBAY
2. Hi Everyone, There is a map of Nashville on ebay. 1876. It is interesting for me because I have been looking for Carlyle Street forever but was told there was never a Carlyle Street in Nashville. One of my folks...Markham... lived there about 1880 according to the census. This map shows the street. To get to the map just go to ebay.com and then put Nashville, Illinois in the search box. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Ava :)

1. [ILWASHIN] Surnames: SRONCE, SCRONCE, SCHRONCE
2. Kent Jensen
3. I am looking for ANY information on tne following surnames: SRONCE, SCRONCE, SCHRONCE. Also, Peter SCRONCE was married to a Betsy McCLAIN on 30 Dec 1836 in Washington county according to the IL Statewide Marriage Index, but a previous post mentions that he was married to Elizabeth HUGGINS on that same date. The latter marriage is mentioned in "Washington County, IL - A historical essay by Capt. Earl R. Smith USCG(R)" on the home page of the Washington County USGenWeb site. Can anyone clearify this? Thanks in advance. Kent __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com

1. [ILWASHIN] il death certs from the IL state archives
2. Kevin Sanders
3. In response to several messages I got...I'd like to let everyone on the list know that the IL state archives is NO longer accepting requests for the free death certificates. They stopped doing this on 15 November 2002, but will honor requests recevied by that date. That was why I posted the website that I did to the list earlier today (which I received from another mailing list I'm on). Kevin __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? 1. [ILWASHIN] 1930 census Washington Co.
2. I made an unplanned (and unprepared - LOL) visit to the National Archives in Washington, D. C. yesterday (one of the perks of living on the East Coast.) I looked up the Washington County 1930 census and made copies of the first three pages of NASHVILLE because for a change MY folks were on the first page!!! So anyone interested in the following people email me and I will be happy to give you information on them. The 1930 census gives the EXACT address...(at least on the town...Beaucoup didn't), the year of the FIRST marriage, and job and type of place of work....and for once Washington County is READABLE! 1. [ILWASHIN] Free Illinois Death Certificate Service discontinued (From ILTrails List)
2. Here's the archives notice posted on their website concerning the decision to discontinue sending free death certificates out (I was really hoping I was mistaken): Please note . . . Since May 15, 2002, the Illinois State Archives' Web site has contained a searchable index to death records registered in the state, 1916-1950. THAT SERVICE WILL BE CONTINUED. >From the same date the State Archives has also offered free uncertified copies of those death certificates to all patrons who requested them by email, telephone, or postal mail. That service will have to be discontinued as of November 15, 2002. The reason for this change is that the demand for those records has been so very great that it has overwhelmed our staff resources and forced great delays in responding to our patrons. Despite all of the other capabilities we have devoted to that demand it showed every sign of only growing larger, to the point that our reference services would become so delayed that they would lose realistic usefulness. We very much regret this change, and hope for your understanding. Click here for instructions as to where you can secure the death records that you identify through use of the Death Index. NOTE: The Illinois Regional Archives Depository (IRAD) system, a program of the Illinois State Archives, does not have a similar backlog of reference requests. You can expect a response from IRAD within a few weeks. IRAD does not have copies of death records (1916–1950) maintained by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Vital Records. Please do not send requests for copies of death records found in the Illinois Statewide Death Index (1916–1950) to our regional depositories. Click hereffff" SIZE=2 FAMILY="SANSSERIF" FACE="Arial" LANG="0"> for information about how to obtain copies of original death records.
