Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5g.2ADI/120.3 Message Board Post: Poitr Nowak can also be found on the 1880 census enumerated Nashville, Washington, ILLINOIS. There are several other children listed. Likely from the first marriage. One in particular which states he was born circa 1876 in Indiana. Then a daughter circa 1878 in Illinois. Perhaps the first wife died in childbirth. Poitr would have had to find a wife quickly to take care of this infant as well as the rest of the family. The church in Posen was not est until 1901. Posen from Radom about 10 miles which with a horse and buggy..I'll guestimate a 1/2 day drive... I think early at St. Michaels Polish Friars were the acting clergy..probobly made home visits.. The 1910 marriage years was probobly a guestimate..at 30 years... I would bet the marriage occured after 1876 up until 1880. Maybe even did occur in 1880 as the 1910 census says..with the distance of Posen to Radom..and the face that early priests acted as visiting friars. Barbie

    3. Hello All, I've got to come back to NY state on March 20th, to take an exam. from a Certified First Responder class, and am not able to extend the trip at the other end, so I won't be able to spend some time in Ashley on this trip. I really appreciate everyone's helpful advice, and hope to make use of it this summer. I hope to bring my wife and son and spend some time in the area. I hope you all have a good end to winter, and that I'll see you in the summer!!!! Thanks again. 3. To the person who is concerned about researching in Nashville: I have been in the WC courthouse in Nashville several times. The ladies there are very nice and it is quite easy to get a look at the records you seek. Their copy fees are reasonable also. Go and have a good time. Janeice Keady Crosson

    1. [ILWASHIN] RE: ILWASHIN-D Digest V03 #23
    2. Dear Tim?, What are you planning your research about? What church? Do you know the cemetery? Do you know the address they lived at? Do you know how to use land records? Are you planing to go to Nashville? The courthouse? I have never been to the courthouse. I have been wanting to visit St. Michaels Cemetery in Radom, and the Nashville Library and the W.C. courthouse, but would be my first time looking for records in the courthouse..would need advise, probobly a guide! My old Radom/Ashly/Beaucoup ancestors..probobly didn't even file death certs! I remember when I was a kid..visiting Uncle Johnny's farm..(my GGM was born on that farm in 1888!) I think it was route 2 Ashley...but route 2 Ashley today, isn't the same address (I don't think) as it was in 1888, or 1960's. I remember a bunch of cats on the farm..lol :). I remember a pond. I remember a barn. I remember an outhouse. I remember a water pump. I remember there was 2 houses there.. One of them..an old homestead (I think). My mom remembers that also. I do think Uncle Johnny sold the farm in the 1970's.. (remember farm aid?) and moved to Nashville city maybe..but shortly after..it killed him. I suppose it was a hard life. I think their land was bought from the Il. Central Railroad..! Very tough!. Uncle Johnny's son Leonard is on the W.C. Honor Roll for WWII. Leonard Krawiecki Imagine.. he was 19 years old! He died right at the end of the war.. in May 1945!!. Horrid. I don't know the details of his death..but the war with Europe was just over..I think he had to die somewhere near Japan. Anyway...this sounds silly, but..I'm thinking that most of the Polish in Radom/Beaucoup/Posen/Nashville/Dubois are related! If not by blood, then by marriages sinse the 1870's and onward. > >Today's Topics: >  #1 [ILWASHIN] holzhauer                 [tomboelling@juno.com] >  #2 [ILWASHIN] Simon                     [tomboelling@juno.com] >  #3 [ILWASHIN] German life from Prussi   [GDETTLEFF@aol.com] >  #4 [ILWASHIN] visit to Illinois aroun   ["Clarke, G Douglas" <clarkedj@info] >  #5 [ILWASHIN] Simon                     [tomboelling@juno.com] >  #6 Re: [ILWASHIN] Simon                 [tomboelling@juno.com] >  #7 [ILWASHIN] visit to Illinois aroun   ["Clarke, G Douglas" <clarkedj@info] > >Administrivia: >To unsubscribe from ILWASHIN-D, send a message to > >        ILWASHIN-D-request@rootsweb.com > >that contains in the body of the message the command > >        unsubscribe > >and no other text.  No subject line is necessary, but if your software >requires one, just use unsubscribe in the subject, too. > >______________________________ > __________________________________________________________________ The NEW Netscape 7.0 browser is now available. 1. Re: [ILWASHIN] Simon
    2. Julia Anna Simon was born abt 1845 in Clinton county, Illinois. Her first marriage was to a Mr. Gray. Her second marriage was to my ggrandfather Ernst Boelling on Sep 15, 1910. He is listed alone on the 1910 and 1920 census. I remember pulling up a online census for her on the 1920 and now can't find it. I think it was for Washington Co (in Nashville) or Clinton Co(possibly Posey). Her divorce from Ernst boelling was in 1912. Her parents were Henry Simon and Margaret Wieker. ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month! 2. Clarke, G Douglas
    3. Hello to all you listers who live in Illinois: I am planning a business trip to Westmont, IL where I'll be for some equipment training on March 18 and 19. I figure it's a fairly straight drive of about 200 miles from there, down rt. 51 to Ashley/Richview area, where I'd like to do some research. My MA(X)SON ancestors and their other offspring ended up, leaving my gg-grandmother here in western NY, as she had married a "local boy" back in 1842. I'm wondering if I should rent a car and drive down there for the 20th and 21st, when public records would mostly be accessible. I could come for the previous weekend, but thought records and such would not be as likely to be available, then. Any thoughts? Bucky took pictures in the Ashley I.O.O.F. cemetery for me, and others like Miles TenEyck's descendants have provided information, and others have sent census look-ups, for which I am thankful, but I have hoped to get out there and do research. I am not sure if it's a good time of year, and if anyone would be around that might be able to show me a few things. Would anyone be available then? Please let me know what you think, and THANK YOU!! 3. Dear all.... I cannot take complete recognition for the probate records index that is online. Wayne and Marie have typed them up and put them online at their site. http://www.iltrails.org/Washington/#probate Remember, should you find a record that you need you must send the box number, and the name of the person to the Washington Courthouse for them to copy it for you, It costs a dollar a page. My file on Thomas Summers cost me $40. and it was a will and dispursement of his assets and land. Well worth the money though as it named all his heirs............ Have a splendid day........ Marci
