    1. [ILWASHIN] death certificates
    2. Russell D. James
    3. I have had someone get a death certificate for me at the Washington County Courthouse. It was stamped "for genealogical purposes only" and she said it cost only $1, instead of the official certificate cost of $10. I was wondering if anyone could verify this for me? Russell Russell D. 1. [ILWASHIN] Shelton Family
    2. I am researching the family of francis M Shelton who was born in greenville, Wayne county Missouri in 1826. I believe Hall shelton was his father (can only prove through sibling at this time) Hall Shelton was born in 1781 Tennessee according to the 1860 Washington County IL census where he is listed living with his son Gillum. Hall Shelton married Elizabeth Mayberry in 1811 Knox County, TN. Gillum Shelton was born in 1820 KY. I would like to share info with anyone who connects or can lead me to Shelton information in Wayne County Missouri between 1825 & 1830. After that they were back in KY and then on to Nashville, Washington county, IL. Thanks Tammy

    1. [ILWASHIN] TROUT
    2. Merle Bellmer
    3. Does anyone out there know if these two men were the same person---one a nickname and the other possibly the real name?? JACKSON TROUT, born 1841 ENSIGN TROUT, born abt 1840. One married Mary Caroline FAULKNER. There was a son named Ensign, Jr., which would tend to say that Ensign was the real name. Just cannot determine for sure. Thanks, Dot

    1. [ILWASHIN] will pay for death certificate
    2. Russell D. James
    3. Now that I have been reminded of the sad fact that Washington County will not release any of its records to IRAD, I am wondering if anyone on this list who lives in Nashville or other places of Washington County would mind going and getting a photocopy of a death certificate for me. I am more than willing to pay the fee for the certificate, postage, and, if needed, a modest amount for gas/travel. If you are willing to do this, please contact me. This person I need the death certificate for could be a link to thousands of other with a similar surname, if only I could find out who his parents were. Much thanks. Russell Russell D. 1. [ILWASHIN] Census 2000
    2. << This came off one of my mailing lists.... what a good idea! "The year 2000 is a Census Year. most of the census will be taken by mail, so after you have filled out your census form why not make a copy of it and file with your important papers. Then your family will not have to wait 70 years to learn about you." >> ______________________________ Better comment about the current census, since 1970 the actual names on the census have been taken out and destroyed. What you keep will be the only information available on Census 2000 Verna I have a friend who works for the census bureau and that is information they were given. Verna Has anyone heard about this. It is the first time I have ever heard that the census will not be able to help US (family researchers) in the future. Marci we may have a new battle to fight. Delores

    1. [ILWASHIN] Peterswerth surname
    2. Russell D. James
    3. Anyone run across the surname Peterswerth? My great-great grandmother was Louisa Peterswerth, daughter of Anton Peterswerth, an immigrant from Germany who married Henry William Luechtefeld, the son of Joseph Luechtefeld. I believe Louisa had a sister named Elizabeth Peterswerth, who married Ignaz Wennemann on 06/26/1866 in St. Libory (Marriages 1839-1899, St. Liborius Catholic Church , St. Libory, IL, No. 217). This would have been about the time that Louisa Peterswerth married Henry Luechtefeld. If anyone has heard of the name Peterswerth or has it in their family line as well (possibly Elizabeth) or who can steer me in a particular direction, please do. I am open to all help available. :) Russell Russell D. James Delta, Colorado [email protected]

    3. And Sam's Club is a couple dollars cheaper than Walmart if you two. I've also found a great place at http://www.officeexpress.com/oe/group.asp?grp=1541&enlrg=y&prn=5106208&oeid= UNABMJ44MWSH2KKX00AL0EWE2RB702XC For my little printer, I had to buy the holder the first time, replacements are about half-price. I'm on my second bottle of ink, can't decide if I just printed an extra amount last month or if the quantity of ink is less in the replacements. Check the ounces in your current printer cartridge and then check it against this ordering page. If it's the same, then this is a good deal, but that's one thing I never thought of checking. It only took a few days to get here - although I sent my order to California, the ink and cartridges came from Highland, IL. Dorothy -----Original Message----- From: Emily I.
