Is there anyone out there who could obtain a copy of the original marriage license on William H. Reuter (Penter) to Cyrena S. Pate April 16, 1843 Washington Co Vol A page 13? I would be more than willing to pay for a copy. Thanks, Susan
Looking for a marriage between a William A. Penter/Panter and Sirena (Unknown) who got married about 1840... ----------------------------------------- One possibility is listed in the Illinois data base, remember the flowery spidery handwriting: Reuter, William H to Pate Cyrena S on 16 Apr 1843, Book A, Page 13 ------------------------------------------ Susan, Some of my friends and I have started to copy the Washington County marriages. This is what my friend sent above from what we have transcribed so far. The handwriting is very difficult to read but I think this is a close fit. Since we got the names wrong you might look for a TATE as well as PATE for his wife. Good luck. Gloria

Thanks, Robert. And thanks to those who did the transcription. This will save a great deal of time and frustration. Well, time anyway. :-) Right now our family is --again-- trying to figure out that Rosenbeck line that seems to present such a wall. Our ancestress Catherine, b. 3 Mar 1839, married Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Brandt in St. Louis in 1857. We believe Heinrich on the 1870 census to be her brother. We beleive her father's name was also likely Heinrich and that she had at least one sister named Gertrude. We believe the country or origin is Germany. That's about all we have right now. Passenger lists have not yielded anything so far.
