    1. [ILVERMIL-L] Death Certificate Questions
    2. Hello. I'm new to this list. I just received a death certificate for my gggrandmother, Mary Ann ROACH WEAVER SILVER. She died in Vermilion Co., I was very surprised and disappointed by the death cert. because there wasn't much info. on it. The name, date of death, reason for death, and a few other things were on the certiciate, but the name of her mother and father were missing. That in itself didn't surprise me a lot because I think she may have been an orphan. The thing that made me wonder if there weren't a mistake was that there was no name given for the informant. That puzzles me because I would think there would have to be an informant giving the information. I know that Mary Ann was married at the time of her death and she was still living with her husband less than a year before she died. I would have thought that he would have given information about her to the coroner. That's why I'm confused and wondering if there was a mistake. Does anyone know if something like this is normal? Also, the funeral home's name is given. It was C.F. Davis in Hoopeston. Does anyone know if it's possible to get records from a funeral home? I'd appreciate any info. on this matter. Thanks.
