I'm looking (and have been for 10 years) a Dr. Johnson from Vermilion county, IL. Unfortunately, that is all I know about him for sure! I do know that he had a daughter Callie M. Johnson who married Frederick Hubb/Hupp/Huff in 1884 in Danville. From the 1900 census of Callie and Fritz, it lists Callies parents as being born in OH (her father) and NJ. Today, all afternoon, I've been looking at land records on the IL Land Sales page and I *think* I've hit a gold mine. I found a John James Johnson who purchased almost 650 acres of land in one day (which I think only doctors or lawyers could afford then) and March 27, 1854, and then 160 more on the 30th of the same month. Does anyone know anything about the family of Callie? or about this John James Johnson?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
