Walt - Michele is absolutely right. I searched for 15 years for 7 orphaned Faulkner children and finally found them - one was listed as Fortner and 4 listed as Fortune. Hard to get those to come up even with soundex. Hang in there and use every variation you can come up with. Any one reading this, I am still searching for Faulkner & Cole in Vermillion County around 1890-1910. Want to meet descendents of Samuel Faulkner and Mamie Cole, married Verm. Co. 1891. judy@abcs.com -----Original Message----- From: Michele Chavez <michelec@qnet.com> To: ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com <ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, November 09, 1999 10:45 AM Subject: RE: [ILVERMIL] Cossairt/Cossart Hi Walt, >I have instances of people from Vermilion Co., IL, with names >spelled, Cossairt and Cossart. Names got spelled all kinds of ways and the folks were all in the same family. I've seen the same surname spelled two different ways in the SAME document! I've come across Kennedy SEALS as Henry SILLS and Thomas REYNOLDS as Thomas RUNELS. I think you are on the right track that this is the same family.
