    3. Mr. Conner & others, I am descended from Peter Cossart b. Aug 30 1746 in N.J. who migrated to KY. (He was later killed in an Indian attack on their settlement between 1781 and 1783.) Virginia Shank Wilson, a cousin, did a lot of research and wrote a book which gives the lineage of the Cossart family back to France. I'm fortunate enough to own a copy. She states that Peter's sons were the first to use the spelling Cossairt. There is an Albert Cossairt m. Magdalena Banta, 2nd Mary Driscle. Albert had a son named Henry. Albert died in Illinois Oct. 11, 1857. This may not mesh exactly with your information, but I have no children's names for Albert. He could be your ancestor, as he uses the same spelling as your family, and was in Danville. But, there are a lot of relatives who also came to the Danville area. I also have detailed information on a lot of other Cosat/Cossart/Cossairt/Cozatts! If anyone needs help, I'll try to help. Please be patient, as I work full-time and take night classes.
