I just recently wrote to the IRAD (Illinois Regional Archive Depository -- or something like that). They charge $1.00 for the first 5 pages copied and $.08 for additional copies from paper and $.10 for those from micro-film. While I don't have their web address with handy, you can find a link to them on the first page of the USGenWeb site for IL < http://www.usgenweb.org/il>. There is a ".PDF" file (Adobe Acrobat Reader) which tells which IRAD to write to for the various areas (Vermilion is at ISU) and what records are available for each county. The letter which I received with one of the documents which I requested (the other wasn't available) gave me the address for the Iroquois County Genealogical Society as a possible source for the other record. Also, payment is on the honor system -- they sent me the copies and told me what I needed to send in payment rather than sending me the bill and waiting until it was received to send the copies. I strongly suggest that you try that. Scott Pittman rsprgv@aol.com
