    1. [ILVERMIL-L] Danville area
    2. Hi all. I'm searching for information on James L. Griffin who lived in Danville between the years 1895 to 1925. He lived with his mother (Vernie Charley Griffin) and sisters Marion/May and Fairy according to the 1900 census. He enlisted in the Spanish/American War and in the 39th Unitied States regulars in the Philippines where he captured the flag of Gen. Aguinaldo, and the flag decorates the local suite of the Spanish-American camp ( this is according to a newspaper clipping that I have.) He married Daisy D. Pasley around 1919 or 1920. He died June 1925 and is buried at the Palestine Cemetery in Crawford Co., IL. His wife died Dec 31, 1924 and left 2 children, James L., Jr and Jean, ages 5 and 4 years. I would like to find out what happened to the children. His sisters Marion married Dr. Ralph Swift and Fairy married Oscar Bredenoft. Others sisters were: Sarah Griffin Bailey wife of E. H./H. E. Bailey and Emma Griffin Curnter wife of William Curnter of Sullivan Co., IN. Other brothers were: Joseph W., John Newton, LeRoy Griffin. Anyone have any information on this family or their spouses, I would love to hear from you and share information. Margie Griffin Wakefield Sacramento, CA Wamak@Aol.com
