    1. Re: [ILVERMIL] Woodlawn Cem - Varners - who are they?
    2. Hello Dennis I do not know where this family came from. There is some indication that the oldest (Allan) MAY have come from Virginia but I cannot really say for sure. I had hoped I might sort of get an idea of how these folks are related to one another. The apparantly are the same family. I have a very large database on Varners (many different families) but I am unable to tie this bunch in with any of them I am assuming the Warren County Varners you refer to are the Martin Varner/Elizabeth Reich line. If so, I haven't been able to tie the Vermilion Co. IL Varners in with them. Nor have I been able to connect the Vermilion Co. Varners to the Henry Varner/Malisa Haines line from Clinton Co. OH. I have found a David Dickson Varner born in VA - the son of Jonathan Varner & Mary Puffenbarger. However this fellow would PROBABLY be too old to be the David Dickson Varner buried in Indianola. If you are aware of any infomation that migh connect the Vermilion Co. IL Varners to ANY Ohio Varner, I would be interested in learning about it. Thanks for you response. Donald Varner .

He had a daughter (Nancy) who married Jacob VARNER of Warren Co. in 1816. I don't believe Jacob and family ever moved to Vermilion Co., but this might provide a clue. Good luck! -- Dennis M.
